Is there a way to change diety to agnostic?Follow

Hello all.

I was wondering, if there is a way to change my Enchanter's diety selection to Agnostic?

I'm sure most of you know why I am asking.

THanks.

Unless you happen to get pictures of Brenlo doing something really embarassing there is no way to change your deity.

This is a favorite pet peeve of mine.

Let's start with the idea that nobody can ever change their religion. That's pretty much foolish on it's own.

More specifically, when I began EQ and started my human Ranger I was FORCED to pick a deity (count Agno as Deity for this argument) but given NO information as the consequences of that choice.
Part of the EQ "wonder" of discovery. Which, BTW, should be confined to the world of Norrath and not your character's creation.
A char in EQ is a long term investment. An irrevocable choice made when you haven't had a chance yet to experience the "wonder" is pretty much an unsatisfying part of EQ.... a very large part.

Now I know that no choice could have been worse than Tunare. I cannot craft any Tunare gear because I am not a Wood Elf and I can craft no Human (steel arrows) gear because I am not Karana.

And this cannot be changed (spoke a voice from on high)...
why the hell not?

Changing your diety (including changing to agnostic) has been requested repeatedly, and repeatedly refused by the devs. Their response from the last Fan Faire (as best I can remember it) is that it would cause too many problems with everything from your standing with literally every faction in the game to what gear you're wearing, and potentially corrupt the player database, meaning you could lose your character entirely or even cause others to lose their characters. As such, it's not something they want to deal with right now.

...now or ever, apparently.

If it is so difficult to change, and since it is so crucial to player development, then again; a LOT more time should be spent selecting the deity and explaining the ramifications during character creation.
In eight months, I have not received one useful bit of information from either the game itself or eq.com.
Indeed, if not for Allakhazam and EQ Traders, I'd still be wondering how to play the game.
A great game and a fun experience but Sony's documentation of EQ is virtually non-existent. That's the fly in the soup. And it continues to echo down through the game on issues just like deity/deity selection.
