I have been to Fear, umm I have died at zone in let me rephrase. I never got to Fear itself! Is Fear the only zone that has the break in? Are the other zones pretty save at zone in?

Since the ordeal in Fear (took a GM and 6 hours to get my body) I have been reluctant to explore zones that I can't get information on.

Hate used to have a semi-tough break in (depending on how well people listened) but doesn't any longer. Plane of Growth is difficult to get going anyplace without picking up horsies and wolves (plus there's those Protectors now) but if you're not evil in race or class and have never hunted there, you won't be KOS. Plane of Sky is safe at zone in.

Really, I think Fear is the only plane left with a real break these days. Keep in mind that, despite the relative low level of the trash mobs compared to PoP zones, Fear is still a raid zone unless you're at the uppermost levels. Mostly due to the aggro ranges of mobs and how easy it is to get swarmed.

Oh yes, there are some. One that immediately springs to mind is Sirens Grotto, zoning in there nearly always puts you right under the feet of an angry bulthar.

If you are KoS to Tunare, PoG would be the same as well.

I've never gotten aggro upon zoning into SG. Usually I'm staring at the stupid Bulthar or walrus down the hall for 5min, waiting for the druid to get their lazy *** in the zone and succor me. I used to do the Divine Aura run instead of waiting, but that always annoyed them for some reason.

And I mentioned PoG! Smiley: tongue

Although, even then, SG is much less dangerous than Fear upon zoning in if only because you can just take two steps backwards over the ZL to safety in SG; a luxury missing from Mr. Thule's backyard.

Now that I think of it, I hear that Howling Stones has Harmtouching mobs right in the entry room (ouch!). Haven't been in there forever though.

Fear is the famous one, of course. Trick is, or was, to go in invis, turn left, head straight for the wall. If you get aggro, stand and die.

Things there just have such a huge aggro range, especially for lower level groups and raids (46-55, say).

Hate is a piece of cake since the revamp. HS does have mobs at the zone in but they're not that bad. Just let your tank zone in first.

Plane of Air (elemental one) is kinda dangerous, couple of wanderers close to the zone.

Except for city zones where you might be KOS that's pretty much all I can think of offhand.

Fear was a raid...I was in my upper 40's and clueless. Also, an experienced raid leader sure makes a difference we didn't have one. Headed out with about 20 people in thier 50's. Mistake!!!! In your 40's well 50's seem high. LOL In your 50's well 60's seem high! Kind of like being a kid and thinking your 30 year old mom is an old lady.

20 is NOT enough for fear in your and 40's and 50's have no business there without some 60's for break in. I learned the hard way and am thanking a Guide took mercy on me. He died a few times but he got me out.

Guess my epic will wait for a while, I am still a chicken when it comes to fear. Though the new graveyard does give us all a sense of bravery, if we have a 7 day patience threshold.

I am sure PoG would hate me. We ran into SG this weekend. The Druid that went down to find the entrance of the zone was mezzed, rooted and cast on. She broke free and we went home to regroup. Haven't went back yet but figure we got a bone to pick with a few Sirens. By the way she never got to zone in, she just met the hostess's at the entrance. LOL

Howling Stones can be a really rude zone-in if you're not expecting it. Just because you're able to obtain the key does not mean that you are ready for HS.

I remember doing hate in the old days. The zone in was not a safe area, there were golems who ran after you, specially if you were lower level, like in mid to lower 50s. We used to do take a bunch of higher level with a wizzie and a monk in the group. First you get all but the wizzie invis'ed. Just after the wizzie starts the port spell, someone else would cast invis on the wizard. Once ported in, eveyone arrives invis. Then the monk would fd pull mobs away and the group would tag one golem to the zone in and kill it. They continue until all the golems were dead. Then the rest of the raid would port in. It's so much easier now.

There's a couple of PoP zones that have dangerous break-ins - HoHb and Sol Ro's Tower. Kinda tricky when the raid gets wiped and the gy is right under the mobs feet at zi.

Actually, I think the issue with Siren's is that it is one of those zones where mobs don't return to their spawn point. So when they get trained to the zone they stay there until a server reset or they despawn.
