Good Morning all,

Since I have deleted my other toons and focused on my now Level 34 Chanter, I have some questions regarding Mana Regeneration.

1st of all - is there a quest to get an object that will allow me to regenerate mana faster (or at least start a quest)? I assume these are called flowing thought items. I searched the bazaar and I don't have the 100,000 plat to purchase even the low end items.

2nd Question - How does meditate (currently 175)help with my mana rengeration? I assume their is a formula such as 175 divided by some constant = sitting on *** for long period of time.

3rd Question - I presently have clarity and gift of magic spells. When may I make use of a higher level spell buff (like KEI or something more powerful then c1)?

4th Question - 1st one to answer the following acroynoyms wins my upmost respect.

C1 = clarity
c2 = ?
c3 = ?
c4 = ?

etc...

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Bubspeed

P.S. I presently have jewelcraft @ 177. Will I ever make a profit by selling the things I make in the bazaar? I assume platinum and velium are whats in style now a days and therefore out of my price range.

Your best bet is to get an earring of the solstice. This is really the only flowing thought item available to you at your level. It will cost about 5k buying all the pieces in bazaar.

When you meditate you regain mana much faster than standing. Not sure of the formula but that's really all you need to know :-)

You can start buying KEI when you hit 46, and c2 at 44 (I think). Much better mana regen than C1 and lasts MUCH longer (about 3 hours).

C1 = clarity (9 mana per tick)
c2 = Clarity 2 (11 mana per tick)
c3 = Kodiak's Enless Intellect (KEI) (14 mana per tick)
c4 = Tranquility (16 mana per tick)
c5 = Voice of Quellious (18 mana per tick)

You won't really make money on jewelcraft until you are making planar jewelry and such, which requires a 250 JC skill.

Over and out,

I am sure there are several, but off the top of my head you could try camping the Eye of the Owl Bear Mother in Hollowshade (in the caves.) I tried to link some other FT items, but I think the link was too long and the post got rejected. Do an item search for enchanter, FT1 effect and you will see what else is out there that you may be able to camp.

The higher your meditation skill, the faster you regen mana.

You can get KEI at level 46.

The abbreviations refer generally to the different levels of clarity you can get, starting with Breeze and ending (I think) with KEI.

Hope that helps.

1st- You may want to try working on mana preservation items, instead of flowing thought itmes. Something like a fine antique ring will do well.

2nd- I can't really help ya with a formula for meditation time vs. mana. All i've gathered from playing the few caster types that i have is when you're OOM, pop a squat and be patient.

3rd- Clarity II is as high as you can get till lvl 46 then your can receive any type of mana buff.

4th- C1=Clarity
C2=Clarity II
C3=KEI
C4=VOQ?? (not totally sure on that one)

I guess my only comment here is that if you wanted a mana machine you should be playing a necro..... Lvl 64 Lich spell Seduction of Saryrn produces 50 mana per tick AND we gain mana at the same rate whether we are standing or sitting. I have never really figured out if my flowing thought items add to it or not, but since I rarely run out of mana it doesn't really matter.

I have been told that meditate regenerates 1 mana per 10 points. So if your meditate is 175, you regenerate 18 mana per tick.

As stated before the Eye of the Owl Bear Mother is a nice Ft 1 item and relatively (based on your groups composition and the availability of people to allow you to create the war in Hallowshade Moor).

Next mentioned is the Earring of the Solstice. 5K is the average price, but if you are not in a hurry and can shop around, I've seen folks get the earring for 3.3K (I did).

After that, with your ability to cast clarity and make a couple of plat in PoK, you can start building up your tradeskills and go for the Shawl Quest in Thrug, #7 is a FT1 item and if you go and get #8 its an FT 3.

So over all you could have an FT 5 for 3 items and also enjoy the adventures of getting them.

I live in America. We have American Indians here. If I wanted to address the the Indians from India I would have said:

Illegal aliens have always been a problem in the US, ask anyone from India.

Barto,

Actually 'Indians' was a term MISTAKENLY given to the native americans when Columbus (being the bright guy he was) thought he had landed in India.

'Indians' refers to people from India.

The term you're looking for is Native American.

Not that I'm that PC that I care, just stating the facts.

Ok - That is a Will Rogers quote so it may be rather out-dated in 2004.... I will find another piece of humor to quote.

Just to nitpick, but at 34 Clarity will be something like 5/tick as it's level based, starting at 4/tick at 29 and going up to 9 at level 64. Since at 52 he'd get clarity II, the most he'd probably get from it would be 7 or 8.

And to add: If you have money to spare, you can get tribute buffs for flowing thought. Can get FT1 at level 20, FT2 at 30, not sure of the level limits after that, but I think its 1 every 10 levels. Tribute buffs do count towards the FT15 cap.

Also to nitpick, last I heard the FT on Earring of the Solstice didn't actually kick in till level 51.

I read somewhere that the formula for mana regeneration with meditation is meditation/10 per tic.

The FT from Earring of the Solstice takes effect at lower levels (don't know exactly how low, but I tested it on my necro at level 15...). It's the stats that you don't get full benefit from until you reach the recommended level. Oh, and be happy you're not a bard. Bard meditate skill caps at 1. Yes, 1. And the only thing they can use to improve mana regen is FT, AA's and tribute. Clarity line, Pot9, necro twitches, etc, don't do squat except raise increase the manapool when using C3. Of course, it's a balance issue. Imagine swarm kiting with C3... oh the bliss.
