If anyone has some pointers for solo shammy I'm all ears (so is my Troll)...

32 is really a rough spot for shaman soloing. I did it in Dawnshroud Peaks on the patch of mushrooms near the rockhopper caves. They can be single pulled if you're careful but watch for jerks training you as they try to run along the walls from the caves. Once you hit 34 and get your pet you will find yourself to be a very competent soloer again and will remain so throughout the rest of your career. Scooby really does make a great roadblock once you get used to him but don't expect him to tank like a warrior.

Slight departure from thread I started...

Yeah I looked up level 34 shammy spells after reading a thread about the better solo classes. Pet would do the trick. I did try the backside of the windmill in LoIO. I would charm blue Grimalkins, and take down gobbies or skellys. When pet was down to 10% I would free and kill it too. Kinda slow. Every third or 4th kill I would need to rest up from canning. Nice thing was I did not get any broken charms but then again, pets didn't last too long.

My experience is that it is not possible to get anything of use at your current level by soloing.

It depends on your class really. A good soloing class(necro, druid, ect.) can easily solo mobs that drop nice gear for thier level.Smiley: smile

A harder soloing class(warrior, cleric, warrior ect.Smiley: grin) you're right, is going to have more trouble obtaining items useful at thier level soloing.

From Babeegirl:
Camping the Fabled Quillmane to get the cloak and just last night, Hadden in Qeynos HIlls was nice and dropped the fishbone earring after camping him for 4 days. I think he got tired of seeing me standing there every time he popped.

I've always had decent luck camping The Great Oowomp in T.D., he drops several INT items that always seem to sell in the Bazaar.

Well... the best item I've gotten to drop while soloing would have to be a mushroom veil off a small mushroom in FG. The hardest kill I've done solo would have to be the Ancient Guardian in Chardok... when he ran and 3 adds were beating on me while I tried to finish him. 65 monk btw... class makes a huge difference what you can solo.

I almost do nothing solo though, have a few friends that always come hang out with me/help me when I try camping something.

Queen Nyhalia finally coughed up a Guardian of the River for my young mage to loot. Looks like a mighty water crystal staff when equipped -- yay! Smiley: rolleyes

I don't know if it's the best, but it's nice to have something a bit unusual. I don't know anyone else who has even heard of the thing, much less owns one.
