Do you feel held back by the graphical enviroment?Follow

There can occur some pretty akward moments in this game because of the limited graphics. For instance when you realize you have the same face as the others in your group (has happend to me a couple of times). The possibilities to make your toon unique is surprisingly limited as far as appearances go. It may seem silly to complain about these things, but then again, making your own unique toon is part of the fun in a MMORPG. How do you feel about this?

Doesn't bother me in the slightist. sure improvements are always welcome but i would rather have bugs fixed than worry if Jo Bloggs in India's paladin has the same face as me.

If your after cutting edge graphics then EQ is not the place for you. hell i wouldn't want cutting edge graphics with the present EQ engine the Lag is bad enough as it is.

There are a few things i would have liked

Beastlord pets to have a name that was chosen on rolling the charicter. for example 'Fido. Warder of McTavish' that would have been cooler than just 'McTavish's Warder'

Kitty pets who's cat type matched thier owner.

I think the attack graphic needs a little work and should depend on the weapon your using. Although the bow pull is nice.

The new Graphics engine is looking pretty good and they haven't made it to advanced that the entire EQ population had to change graphics card like they did with Luclin.

It is true that in the current environment you are limited to what you can do to individualize your toon.

We can dye armor now, Woot!

But SoE has a ton of other things they need to fix first. And more/better graphics at this point will just slow the game down. DX9 has enough issues without adding more to it.

I would rather have speed and performance, than eye candy.

/agree with Tarv about the pet names, it would be a esay to fix it so we could name our own pets.

I'm tired of having a wolf pet named xenolk or Gobnob.

I don't have any problem with the graphics, if I had to choose what they spent time improving, graphics would the last thing on my list. They are good enough that I don't notice them when I'm playing, and occasionally will say "ooo that looks cool" and that's all I really need. Plus like Tarv said, we have enough lag issues as it is.

I don't play primarily for the graphics.

There are things I would have changed, had it been up to me (and had the current possibilities existed five years ago). But no, that isn't a limiting factor to me.

the only graphical holdback in EQ is the fack their engine sucks so bad it takes 3x the computer to run the junk graphics it does give compaired to games with FAR better eye candy that will run on 1/2 the system specs and look better with less lag.

You want limited graphics, go play FFXI where everyone looks basically the same. At least in EQ, you've got about eight faces, three hair styles, about a dozen hair and eye colors, plus beards, woads, etc. In FFXI you get two or three nearly identical faces and a choice of two hair styles. Yay!

I'd like skin tones, body types (thin, heavy, etc), and all that but I'm willing to wait on another game for it. Be it EQ2 or something else.

90% of the time you can't see peoples faces clearly anyway because of distance or helm graphics.

These games will never get to the point where faces can be used for recognition (unless you want people continually running right up to you to see if you are who they thought you were)

I would like some better face options but I can live with what I have.
