what the world needs is more love, clerics and enchanters as usual. at least in stromm server, it appers we have excess of paladins. we all know that ever since LDoN they became a very popular class as tanks more than any other. how many times have i gone to bed because i couldnt find group? never a cleric was available lfg and no cleric=no group pretty much. so if u r thinking about a new character in stromm, no more paladins i tell ya for experience. clerics or chanters will do. bst also seems to be another popular class. PEACE OUT

if no cleric is around get a shammy. they can slow and heal better then a cleric alone.

the reduced damage due to slow/haste combo is enough to compensate for the reduced healing power of the sham. not to mention higher level shams = #1 mana regen in game.

I wish to second most of this. We have an ungodly number of paladins on Stromm. Up to level 35 clerics really are sparse, but I never had a serious problem with that with shamans and druids being basically just as capable of healing as clerics until the mid-30s and later.

If you want the truth we're actually more overrun with beastlords than anything else. Try a /who sometime in our PoK, 10 druids, 10 clerics, 10 shamans, 10 warriors, 30+ beastlords. Everyone and their brother has one, and the few who don't own one have serious intentions of making one. I've grown to despise what I once thought was a very interesting class. >:|

odd, as BL and zerker are the 2 classes i have the lease bit of tendancy to want to play.

id more then likely make a rogue over either of those two.

im just odd that way i guess.

No you're not. I thought the movie Beastmaster was awesome back in the day. But I've never had any desire to create a Beastlord.

I just started a chanter last weekend and I'm thinking of making a shaman when I get tired of that alt.

I did make a paladin, but that was purely for a 2 boxing-duo, and since my 2nd computer is not DX9 compatable, I haven't played him since the patch.

I think the class saturation is cyclical, once one class gets over-used, people move on and find another class. When I started it was everyone was a Ranger, then Necros got popular,
when the new classes came out everyone had to have one. Some think now we are over-run by Paladins. I fully expect there to be a glut of Bards in the future...well, maybe not...

One class MOST people should have at least an alt for is a Cleric. You can substitute another healer class too, but essentially everyone should get a taste of being the main healer.

Lately I have seen a lot more Warriors which is nice. They might be one of the most under-played classes.

Actually warriors have always been one of the most under-played class, and there are good reasons for it.

Sometimes I think the EQ nerf bat has a HUGE spot on it labeled "Warrior's only, thanks for playing"Smiley: wink2

You know, I've been playing EQ for 4 years and a couple of months now, and I don't really recall warriors being nerfed too much. Underpowered except in raid situations, sure, but not nerfed.

Monks and mages have a right to ***** about nerfs, but not warriors. About the only nerfs that have hit them are item nerfs like the moss covered twig...

Any nerf that affects tanks, effects warriors, and usually effects them more than other tanks because hybrid tanks have spells to generate aggro, while warriors don't.

I'm too lazy at the moment to go back and research how warriors have been nerfed over the years, but I'll give you a huge example from recently. Placing the high level proc caps on copper hammer of striking and sword of the bloodsworn. Ask anyone out there what class was most affected by those nerfs and I think you'll find warrior is the usual answer.

Any paladin or shadowknight that was using these weapons for aggro, just mainly shrugged it off, switched weapons and went back to casting spells for aggro management. Warriors....it was, "well, best of luck to ya!"Smiley: wink2

Plus warriors have always operated at a disadvantage to other more well rounded classes, so any time they're nerfed, the hole is that much bigger to dig out of.
