Where do you keep your toons???Follow

#1 Apr 22 2004 at 5:05 PM Rating: Good
I got to thinking about this on my drive into work this morning... (A sure sign that I'm playing WAY too much EQ!)... where do you leave your toons? I tend to keep mine at the bank in their *home town* so that if I need to move something from one character to another it's not a hassle. Unless of course I'm on an extended quest or hunting expedition in which case I just camp somewhere safe in whatever zone I happen to be in. Nothin like *waking up and having something RED chewing on you from the git-go!

Anyway, it seems to me that once you get up there into the upper levels you are less tied to that starting location by the need for training etc.

Soooo, do you even need a home base or is it just convenient for knowing stuff like the location of your favorite merchants and where the oven or brew barrel are.

And if they've been bad to you put them in a really awful place?

I like to camp in PoK because you can go anywhere from there. I also bind myself there so I can gate back after I raid, group, or whatever else I do.

Same with me. PoK is the easiest place to park my Druid. Just port up and head to the wall to the left of the Druid Drop Off....

Yeah, but there are trees and they serve granola. Smiley: smile

No, no, that bottomless concrete pit is for Rangers.

The Druid Drop Off is where we toss old used druids after they have served their one useful purpose of porting those of us who are too lazy to run a few zones to a PoK book.

I'm another one that camps in PoK. Usually at the bank in PoK. And unless I have a good reason, I'm bound there too.

I never keep in one play too long. When my toon are young, they camp in PoK because they are too afraid of the outside world. But now they like to ride the razor's edge.

My Ikky Monk camps all the time in BB. Probably the only other place that hates him more is Neriak, and I don't EVEN have the balls to try that place. LOL

My Barb Zerk camps whereever he damn well pleases. LOL If I can find a spot safe enough for 30 seconds, that's his camp spot.

My Human Cleric is camping in PoK because the guards don't like him in Freeport. Why does the Army NEVER like tree-hugging-hippy-freaks???

I usually camp under the bridge between the Nexus book and Bank. It's close to the PoT stone, Bank, and Nexus (Bazaar and all of Luclin)

yup, 90% of the time, i would park all of my toons in PoK unless i had them doing something specific like scouting for rare spawns with a ranger etc.

once i log in, there is almost no place you can not get to from PoK with a little bit of effort. the banks, merchants, trainers all make PoK ideal for parking my toons.

well did when i was playing.

Usually PoK if I can back there in a resonable time. Since I never know what I'm going to want to do the next time I log on, it's the best starting point. There's nothing like camping in somewhere like Lake Rathetear and logging back on with no urge to stay there, thus you start your gaming session off with a 15 minute run to somewhere.

I park my lvl 46+ on the beach in PoT so that she can look at the sunset while going to bed.
For my alts i usally find the nearest bedrom and camp in the bed. Its not comfertable to sleep on the ground! =)

My main(51 druid) is always camped in PoK. As was said, it offers easy access to KEI and such as soon as you log on, and you can get anywhere from there. Not that I need it with ports...

Lower level toons usually get camped in a safe spot within, or directly outside of wherever they're hunting at the time. It makes for convenience, since I can get right to things. The only place I won't camp is the Bazaar. Too much lag. =(

In my earlier levels I camped wherever I was done fighting near a guard. Now at higher levels I camp in POK. Our guild has a place in POK so it is the gathering spot, all groups seem to form in POK and access to everything is there including a couple banks.

I am KOS in my home town so even going back there is not an option. LOL

Three accounts here...

Each account has one character parked in the bazaar.

My main two characters stay in PoTranq, since it is easier to get to EP/Time raids.

All others are in PoK near the main bank.

I park my toons in POK for all the reasons stated above, with the exception of my main who at the moment is tradeskilling with a vengence and parked in Abysmal. Trying to GM baking (235 atm), brewing is now 200, fishing 200, alcohol tolerance 200 (with fisherman's companion how can you not bring that stat up while fishing?), pottery at 160, alchemy at 170 ... you get the picture. I have easy access to all vendors, ovens, etc. but I hate that stupid boat so she's parked there.
