My lvl 15 mage went to Steamfont yesterday, and as I was the only player in the zone at that time, i decided to work on my "train"-message and combine it with the %T command.

So I stood there, shouting "Train to zone!!! a rogue cleaner!" and "Everybody out of the way!! Training a rogue cleaner to zone!" when I got a loud /ooc LOL from another player who just logged in. He was a lvl 2 pally and asked me if I needed help... :)))

Anyone else had experiences like that?

Yep, a lot of times when I'm in a zone that nobody else is in (Gunthak, Warsliks woods), I'll get bored during the downtime between fights and start shouting things through the zone, for some reason I find it funny. On more than one occasion I've yelled something stupid that doesn't make much sense...

Mulamen shouts Mulamen is hungry and he is medding right now, I also ate spaghetti for dinner last night and I hate reality TV.

or something equally idiotic, and do a / to find out that all the sudden there's 6 other people in the zone.

I can just see the /ignore mulamen being typed when that happens.

Heh...personally I constantly "Talk to Myself" even in packed zones like The DreadLands when I solo.

Makes it more fun to tell myself what's Inc.

I havn't purposfully shouted or ooced to zone anything odd before, but I sure have accidentally done it.

Used to have a train message on my cleric when I hunted KC. Well, it was hotbutton one on page two of my buttons. On page one, it's sit.... well, if I drag a corpse, button on page two, and forget to switch back, I've shouted a train of incoming corpses before to the zone when trying to sit to memorize rez.

Ended up just deleting that button, and leaving that button blank so I can't do anything like that again =).

Once while sitting in BB looking for a LDoN group, I kept seeing the same person /ooc North Ro. He repeated the same thing once every 10 seconds or so for at least a good 5 minutes. Turns out he was standing in the adventure camp, hailing the magus and then trying to get her to teleport him to North Ro. Guess he didn't realize he was typing in /ooc instead of /say the whole time.

Similar to Zhao I have my #2 hotbutton set to auto-forage whenever I turn right. Once, I created a social to say (to Gren) "Who is your sister?". It was in postion #2 of page two. Weeks later, I must have hit the hotbuttons to page two because I noticed I had said "Who is your sister" about 30 times...

I no longer put anything in position #2 except the auto-forage...

What's even worse is when you're running for your life, click the button and call a train to Akheva.

And you're in Dreadlands.

Ok...the hotkey thing is a real killer. While playing my Bard I have my pull songs and hotkeys on table two. Normal song twists on table one. Far too often I would forget to switch after the pull and arrive in camp saying something like "incomming help me kill a <insert mob here>. Then follow that with "uh OH he has friends".....then "Crap...my bad...takin to zone"...then "oooops...gonna eat this one". All while one mob stands in camp getting beat on and the group is desperately looking for all the adds and I am trying to figure out why all my neat songs are having no affect whatsover on the mob or the group. I finally deleted them all and just click them right out of the actions box and twist songs to my hearts content.

/ooc train to SF ramp! i probably have a Goon on my butt get out of the way!!!

that lead to a few gentle reminders the first time i used it in DL i can tell you.

I also have an annoying habit of doing /ooc when talking to guild and visa versa.

Yea I think everyone has accidentally called a train that dosent exist. This is really funny in overcrowded spots such as PC where trains are common and almost always mean certain death. So when you see ooc: train to SH about half of the zone runs to the exit and the person who called it is sittin with their thumb up their azz saying, "oops." Me I like to talk to the mobs when Im tankin like whos ya daddy and stuff like that. I've gotten some funny remarks from doing that too.

I remember when Kunark first came out. I was leader of a group of 5. We were heading to FM from the outpost. It was night. I couldn't see well. I didn't have a map. Everyone was auto-following me. I was unaware that there is a big chasm in the middle of the zone. I'm running along. The next thing I know, I see ......

You have fallen.
You have taken 1200 points of non-melee damage.
You have died.
LOADING PLEASE WAIT...................

I lead my entire team to their death....

We were only around lvl 25 and it took over 2 hours to find and drag everyone's corpse out of the chasm. One person's corpse had ended up on the roof of Howling Stones.

Try talking about a group member to your guild using /g instead of guild say. Unless you are speaking highly of them, it could be a bad thing. (That was my oops.) :)

Better yet, try talking about somebody in tells using /r and having them slip you a tell right before you hit enter.
Great fun trying to turn that around into a positive.

You all just reminded me of something funny. I used to be in a really cool family guild that unfourtunately fell apart. During my stay in this guild one member who had been a member for about 2 days typed:
/gu so how do I get into one of those good guilds
He immediatly deguilded himself and we got a good laugh for days afterwards. I think the best was when someone said:
/gu /sigh I really miss <his name> he was the glue holding this guild together
LOL

Well, I don't usually hotkey messages that often, so I don't do that too often. I do occasionally just plain fat finger stuff when I'm tanking and toss out a inc message when I don't mean to. I also sometimes sit down right when I pull that unslowed golem to camp, which usually hurts alot. Yes. I hate when I get my fingers on the wrong keys.

The hotkey bank thing does get me all the time, but usally I just end up using a discipline accidentally. Which reminds me. I should actually just remove those hotkeys now that the aren't needed anymore...

My worst would be on my paladin.

For the longest time I had my assist hotkey next to LoH. If I happened to get a bit of lag just as I was going to assist the MT....oops, soandso feels a healing touch.

I think I did 3 or 4 LoH for about 50HP before switching my hotkeys around a bit.Smiley: blush
