I have a trader that I put up in the bazaar daily. I notice that when I get up in the AM my trader is up and running but you can't find her on the /bazaar list if searching by items. You can look the trader up by name which is fruitless.

I sell mostly Necro spells and the strange things is my robes show up in the search items. However, I don't show up in the spell items. Thus no business!!!!

Turning my trader on then off resets and all works fine for a while. Being at work doesn't allow me that luxury. Am I doing something wrong?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Nope no idea.
I am assuming you have put yourself in trader mode, looked at your list of things you are selling, and that everything on the list is whats been highlighted in your trader satchel.I.e. the graphic in your satchel is outlined in green.
I am also assuming that none of the items are in an non trader satchel.
I get kicked out of trader mode all the time but when I'm in trader mode I can find my items by searching for them.

I just had a friend look me up using my trader name and I am there he even went and made a trade. All are highlighted green and every item was price checked this AM before I left for work.

My friend typed in /bazaar then "spell" to search and I don't show up at all. He typed in /bazaar then "robe" and my robes show up. He selected my name under trader and everything shows up. So I am definitely in trader mode. Also, when he does select my name once he finds me he can't get a mystical path.

I know that turning off the trader and back on fixes this but that defeats the purpose of being gone while in trader mode.

If you do a search that comes back with more than 200 items, the list is trunicated, which might be the source of the problem. have the friend type in a specific spell next time and see if that doesn't work.

I too have experienced this problem, I used to sell loads of robes on my trader, when I started in the day I would search on robe and they would all be there (200 limit permitting). When I would come back some hours later, and repeat, I would not be there at all (regardless of 200 limit. If you specify a particular robe then it does appear - strange...

I would say, from a laymans stance that there are a number of indexes in place on the bazaar tables - I suggest that they are becoming out of sync - hence you can search on character or specific item but not general items.

I never had a sensible answer but you might like to report it and see what response you get ?

I have also been having this problem, (you can check my post from yesterday called - *Odd anomaly in the bazaar*).

I sell mostly small food items and stuff for combines so nothing in my stall is worth a lot of plat, never the less... it is a bother.

Seems to me that what triggers my *removal* from the lists is the action of a buyer making a purchase. I have noticed that when I come back to my trader, if no one has bought anything, she still shows up on all the lists but if anyone has bought from her, she's MIA.

This doesn't happen every night but it does happen often and I can't help but feel that I'm losing sales due to *unavailability*.

Now, here's the nefarious part... a couple of times, the purchase has been very small, like a single food item, and was made by another trader who sells a bunch of the same merchandise.

Coincidence, maybe... maybe not!

I narrowed my search and I am there with my spells. So the excess traders seem to be the issue. I am wondering if the longer your on you begin to drop to give new traders room for advertising.

I guess periodically turning off and on trader is the only way to stay on top of my game or just put all the other spell venders out of business!

Thanks for the help and enough information to figure it out.

So if I understand you correctly, we're not being removed from the list at all, just given a lower priority in the listing and therefore excluded from the 200 result truncated list.

Maybe a solution would be a little macro script that ran in a loop and did:

off trader
on trader
wait one hour
repeat

I suck at macros and scripting so I don't know what the correct commands and timing would be but I'm sure some of the code dogs among us would have no trouble whipping out an instruction set that would work... anybody... anybody... Bueller...

BTW thanks for your help, Josettee, this has been bugging me for days!

You cannot put that long a pause in a macro. The longest parameter it takes is 1500 IIRC.

This is normal. (ie bugged)

It's been happening to me for ages. Coming off trader and going back on fixes it. It is as if after a certain time you drop off the list. It has nothing to do with the 200 limit or with people buying, or with /afk. It has happened in the absence of any of these.

I think there may be some dumb code in the search engine based on the earlier limits on trader numbers.

Well I have tested all of this and here is what I have narrowed it to.

The length of time will not bring down your trader and the number of traders will not bring down your trader. In fact as long as your name has trader next to it, your open for business.

The number of items affects if you show up.

Ex. At the end of yesterday I could type in "robes" and show up. I could type in "fingers" and show up. I could select my trader and show up.

If I selected "spell" I did not show up. Spells has a vast inventory in the bazaar when you combine all caster's together and those that peddle them. I myself have 70 alone on my trader on most days. The same goes for "words" which we all know we all sell.

If I narrow my search to "spell" "necromancer" since that is all I sell then I show up. The longer I am on the better chance I will not show up in the general search. Seems as new traders come on they get the most current "general" search if there is an over abundance of that particular item.

So for those that have the opportunity click off then on to refresh your status. Those of us that work well we just have to live with it!

Now on a good note!!!!! For me some of those hard to find words that seem to suddenly never be around are. I no longer will be searching "words" to look over the list. I will be typing in exactly what I want and last night I found some winners at good prices otherwise I never would of been able to purchase. Since my tradeskill is research this is fantastic news!

Oddities in bazarre, continued...

Have experienced myself a minor version of the above, but it was NOT related to too many matches - happened/still happens at odd times but mostly when I have added new item to trader sack that does not yet have a price in my ini file.

I will see it without the money-green glow, in my trader inventory. I check the current market price by searching for the item [ALT-a], set a price myself, accept, and run the search for the item again. It seems about one time in four or so the item and my name do NOT show up in the search. Turning off trader, then turning it on will correct this three times out of four, but sometimes it just will not happen.

Have found that logging all the way and returning will correct.

It is just plain strange, although yesterday saw something in the bazarre even stranger: An ogre who was in the floor up to his armpits. He would rise up to about waist high when moving around, but when he stopped in front of any trader was back down about that deep again. Best part was when he apparently gave up on getting it fixed and started swimming, yes swimming, in the stone floor of the bazarre. Even got screenshots.
