Endurance and BezerkerFollow

#1 Apr 18 2004 at 2:48 AM Rating: Decent
I have been gone from the game for more then a year now. But, sometimes I cant resist clicking on Alla's new items that have been updated. So can anyone explain to me what Endurance is and how it affects gameplay. Also can anyone give me a brief rundown on what the Bezerker class does and is good for.

I know I could check the Everquest main page and see what they have to say about it, but I have found that they really dont know how the game is played. For example my 4 or 5 year ago first character was a halfling rogue and they reccomended I drop most of my points in Dex and Agi, I soon found that I had misapplied my points and rerolled.

I am not planning on playing again soon, to be honest I cant afford it, but am curious how these two things affect the game. Thanks ahead of time.

Okay, I know I pulled this one up, but I'm a Zerk freak.

Ok, from what I gather, Endurance is the yellow bar under the Mana bar in your toon's window. Jumping and some Disciplines draw from this. As well as (I may be wrong) some mob spells affect this.

For my zerk, I use chunks of Endurance to make my axes. I like to refer to it as Fighter's Mana. (hehe...ok, so don't laugh)

Now, as far as the Berserkers go, here's what I know:

-Berserkers can be played by the following races: Vah Shir, Barbarian, Troll, Ogre, and Dwarf. Though I got the itching feeling I'm forgetting one.

-They are mainly a DPS/off-tank class, but can tank if needed.

-Their HP/AC isn't near a Warriors, but then again they only get to wear chain anyway.

-They get two really great Combat Abilities at low levels. Leg Strike @ 6 (or 8) which is a ghetto snare/root; and Head Strike @ 16 which is a short stun, but still interrupts casting.

-Starting from 1st level, and virtually every couple of levels thereafter, they get a new discipline that makes a new type of throwing axe. (they have pretty good dmg/dly ratio)

-The only weapon skills they have are 2H Slashing and Hand to Hand, though they can't dual wield. And I have yet to see any Zerk with a H2H and Shield.

-At lvl 6 They get an ability called Frenzy. On a good hit, it delivers up to three instant attacks. They also get double attack (before 20, for sure) and disarm (@ 35).

-In the 30's they get a next level of the two Strikes. I haven't got them yet, but my guess is either greater percent chance of hit, increased time, or for higher-level mobs.

-For the 50's they get War Cries. From what I hear, this is some group buff. Though I would imagine it's not very long.

-I have no clue what their AA's are, but from what I hear is pretty much the same as the warrior's with a couple additions.

Oh, as a side note: Barbarian Zerks get the best newb armor and final task weapon. My Barb Zerk is 24 and still rocks with his newb armor.

Anyway, I hope this helps. Sorry it wasn't sooner.

Good info there psych, just a couple notes/corrections.

Zerkers get all 2handed skills. This means 2hs, 2hb, and piercing (though they can only use 2handed piercers.) All classes get h2h, though only monks and beasts are able to use the h2h weapons. A Zerker using a sheild and barehanded would have to be desperate ;)

There are 4 main skill sets. Snare, Stun, Jolt, Cry. The snare, stun, jolt go by 8 levels. (1st snare @ 8, 1st Stun @ 16, 1st Jolt @ 24, 2nd snare @ 32, and so on). Cries start at level 30, and you get a new one every 10 levels, this is a short duration Str, Dex, Atk, and maybe haste group buff. There are other disciplines post 50 as well that do not follow this trend.

Summoned axes start at level 1. You get your second at level 5, and then a new one every 5th level (5, 10, 15, etc). Your skills (listed above) use these axes to do their job.

Double attack comes at level 17 like other hybrids, but since they are 2hand weapons only, they (obviously) never get duel weild.

As of a couple months ago (when I played my zerker) the AAs they had were the basic set of melee AAs, mostly along the lines of the Warrior. There was talk that the BER specific AAs were not completed/implemented yet, and I'm not sure if they have been yet.

Endurance takes the place of the Stamina/Fatigue bar of old. This is used basically as melee mana, now that they have all melee /discs running off this. (They upgraded melee /discs btw =)) Unfortunately, as of now there are no endurance regen items, nor do the zing spells/songs of old work on this.

(edit, it's late and I can't type)

how does stamina effect endurance, Is it similiar to the way it effected vitality prior to endurance replacing it? Does your weaopn wieght and hits per minute still take away endurance the way it did vitality?
