I was heading to a camp in Paludal Caverns last night, when I suddenly foudn myself through the wall...I was ina state of "limbo" for about 4-5minutes where I couldn't move, then all of a sudden I popped right over in front of the Shadow Wearver Thicket Zone line.
NOw this is a problem cos I'm only a lvl15 SK, my group tried to come to me, but died sevearl times, and eventually I got nailed by a bunch of fiends.
Now 2 things.
1- Can I petition to get my corpse back?
2- Will my corpse still be there after the patch? (I had to log off after a fair bit of trying)

You were transported to a "Safe Spot". Running back through PC was the difficult option. Running out of PC and using the PoK book to go back to the Nexus and into PC would have been wiser.
Use this route to go back after your corpse.
If you got killed in some strange part of the caverns then find a friendly necro to summon your corpse. The cheap (2pp) coffin is good enough for this.
I would not waste a /petition on it until you have explored other options.
At least now it will pop into Shadowrest after 7 days

It can take hours (if not days) for a GM to respond to your petition.
See if a high level necro is willing summon your corpse for you. He can summon it to any point in the zone you'd like.

Or you could wait 7 days, and then go get your corpse in the graveyard.
Do NOT petition a GM to try and get your corpse summoned. It won't happen, and all it will do is make you frustrated because it seems like the GM isn't willing to help you. It's policy not to summon corpses for players who die in the regular course of gameplay. It may seem like a cruel or mean thing to do, but there are good reasons for it.
Your best bet is to see if you can get a necromancer or shadowknight to summon your corpse for you. And in the future make sure you always use your /loc command when you're in a battle that you're not sure if you'll survive. It gives you a point of reference to find your corpse if you die.

OK thanks for the info,
I didn't really want to petition to get my corpse back because I died in battle, but because I shouldn't have been there anyway!
I didn't know if there was a PoK portal in Shadeweaver's thicket...
Ah well I will have to hang on and find someone to help!

Luckily some level 56 went and got my corpse then gave me a 96% rez!.
so all is good in the World again :)
