LoH Buggy?Follow

Okay, I'm getting a touch irritated by this...
I have died three times now when trying to Lay hands because, for one reason or another, it just doesn't respond. I have made it work since this started happening so I know it's not completely disabled, but when I need it most, I click it and it says:
You haven't recovered yet...
And it definitely was up, I hadn't used it for at least 2 or 3 hours. By the time I try to click it again I'm usually dead,so my question is, has anyone else noticed problems with this? I would chalk it up to just bad luck, but it's three times now and seems a bit strange.

This will not help comfort you but I have had it happen to me when casting. A friend of mine has had it happen on his monk when using Mend.

Seems that when you get that message, it needs a second or two to reset before you can try again. Have you found that it is available to you after you died? Or does it get used even though nothing happens?

The thing with Lay hands is that it gets renewed after you die, so I wouldn't be able to check that, however after I click on it the button stays up but gives me that message. It acts like a spell that I've cast and haven't waited long enoguh to recast.

Yeah, that's what happens to me and my friend. Usually it says you have to wait xxx before using this ability.

It's been ongoing with me - not often - but there nonetheless.

I will report it when I get in game since it's not just me. :)

I had the same problem about a month ago. Like you, I wrote the first one off, but then it happened twice more. And not since.

Let me ask this. Are you targeting your LoH with the cursor or using your F keys?

I've noticed a cursor targeting problem on and off. Target displays the mob I selected, but now and then, the game acts as if it's not targeted.

I know that doesn't exactly explain the "you haven't recovered yet" message, but I've never tried hitting the LoH button with nothing targeted to see what it says. Just wondering if faulty targeting is causing the bug and message.

I always use my F keys when targeting myself for Lay Hands, a quick F1 then 7. I haven't checked to see if I'm targeted or not, it's just an innate thing to hit those keys with my eyes on my HP, then a quick F8 again. Of course the only time you use Lay hands is in a HUGE hurry, next time I'll make sure I have myself targeted.
As far as Lh'ing the air, it says "You must select a target for this spell" or something very similar...

The more I think about it though, if I didn't have myself targeted, I'd still have the mob targeted and it would burn my LoH instead of just not using it...

*edit- corrected horrible grammar problems*
*edit2- corrected the spelling of grammar...very sad*

I know that a lot of "spell like effects" use the same game mechanisms to operate. Is it possible that at the time you are trying to hit LoH that you just cast a spell and your spell gems aren't reset?

I know that would be a bug, but it wouldn't be the first time I've seen odd effects like that. I remember that at one point, a proc would prevent spell casting for a set time just like you'd just cast a spell (and vice versa IIRC, which was a real pain in the butt).

I haven't personally had any trouble using LoH recently. I used it just last night with no problems in fact. I don't think I've ever seen that particular message ever.

The only spells I use regularly while fighting are stun and yaulp, and when I get down to about 17%, all eyes are on my hp's and I'm not casting anything; I'm just poised over the F1 key, so I don't think that's the problem. I'm going to /bug it when I get home and keep my eyes on it really closely next time I'm in an LoH situation. How is it with movement? Do you have to me still while doing it? The only thing I can think of is that I always back off before using it, and maybe I'm still moving backwards.

Hmmm... I've used LoH while on the run many many times. That should not be the issue.

Dunno? Odd lag issue maybe?

I'd really like to hope not, since I just spent a fair chunk of change building a new computer that has no other lag issues... maybe that extra action of the LoH is enough to get me some lag during battles, it's so quick though that it's hard to tell.

Only time I had a problem with my loh was when I downloaded a new UI skin. Not only would my loh act shady I was not able to access my skills and a couple of other minor irritations. If you downloaded a cute new AI you might want to try using the default and see if it still happens. Even when you have had no problems with a UI new patches tend to add some quirks to mine and sometimes I have to download a new one or update the old.
