One other thing concerning taunt. You have to be careful, because until level 60, I do not believe you are able to sucessfully taunt any mob that is higher level than you are. So taunt is not a viable option for many pop leveling parties.

I play a warrior, and I experienced an increased difficulty with maintaining aggro at level 55. Don't be too worried at 56 you get your next provoke type discipline and I found that this helped greatly.

Also concerning aggro, Critical spells and critical hits in combat do not effect aggro. In fact a miss generates just as much aggro as a hit. There are several examples of this that can be found on other message boards. The one I will use is that many guilds(including mine) when we kill seru, the main tank typically does not use a seru bane weapon (he does no damage) but does a fine job of holding aggro

A significant proportion of the complaints I've heard in Groups about aggro (especially Addies) are covered by this statement. Whether we're talking about Mana Management, Crowd Control or Aggro, there are 2 key ingredients: A skilled and well-equipped player supported by a team who understand their specialist skills.

I mainly play a druid and know I need to watch my casts to conserve mana and do so pretty well. But a tank who doesn't understand the words 'med' and 'break' can make me ineffective. Similarly if I start goofing off with snares and roots I can easily bugger up the MA. And how many Enchanters believe that e-Bay/Mysupersales should throw in a free 'Assist' hotbutton with every account sold? Smiley: sly

I remain unconvinced that taunt is bugged. When I'm in a decent Guild Group or a lucky pick-up, it's never a problem.

Have you tested it out for yourself? Or are you just being sceptical?

I would like to reiterate that Head Strike does not always steal agro. In fact, for me, I can't even recall stealing agro while using it. Even if I were to steal agro, I already do have my Diversive Strike to reduce what agro I have stolen. As of yet, no one has complained to me for "stunning too much."

Anyway, I see it as my Berserker's role to do anything needed to win. One thing that always helps is keeping the mob stunned. I always tell the casters to save their mana cuz I can do the rooting and stunning for them. As of yet, I have had no complaints.

As I've stated - I'm not speaking as a tank, but the principles I mentioned are based on experience, not theory.

I've seen a well balanced, well disciplined group have total management of Aggro, whether the MA was WAR/SK/RNG.

I've also seen really high Warriors kitted out to the 9's have aggro taken away because of sloppy snaring/dotting/rooting/assisting by others in the group.

I've yet to see a complaint about taunt being nerf'd that wasn't in a sloppy group.

Oh, and I can't spell sceptical :=/

Naw, that's myth. I've been able to taunt lvl 65 mobs off of people, when it worked :) (Servitor being a most recent one, though there have been other mobs that were quite higher than me that I taunted off). (Non-PoP though, maybe PoP is special?)

Coming from a non-taunter, you do not see the taunt messages and most likely would attribute any failure to regain aggro as a taunt fail. Also, seeming as you are in the higher level bracket, your tanks most likely have better taunt skills (less failures overall), better weapons/procs (anger?), and all that fun stuff. Again, aggro build-up/hate generation wasn't the issue, it was the taunt skill. Hitting the button to take aggro off of someone.

HOWEVER, (yes, that's a big however), since the 4/14 patch, I haven't seen these issues anymore. Looks like with whatever they fixed, they fixed the taunt button as well.
