Where, when, & how for rogues??Follow

#1 Apr 11 2004 at 8:38 PM Rating: Decent
Hello to any and all who may have the knowlege I seek!! I am currently a 28th season Scout of Tunare. I tire of the answer that I should spend my next few seasons in High Keep!! I seek adventure else where but not sure as to where would be a good place for one of my experience. I also have heard of an Epic quest for those of my calling and would like to know if it is something I should consider embarking on at this point or if I should have a few more seasons under my belt. If or when it is an endeavor I should undertake where would I start?

Ok let me put it in a nut shell!! not everyone like the role play version!!

Where can a 28 rogue go for XP besides HK and when and how should I start my Rogue epic!!

Try out Marus Seru first then Dawnshroud Peaks. Nice experience bonus being a new world zone. Find a group in these places, hopefully with ones who know these zones as the zelniak, fungus and lightcrawlers seem to come from across the zone to aggro (exaggerated but you get my point).

As for your epic, check out https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=764. But be aware, druids and rangers must be level 46 to start their epic. Check out the posts regarding faction.

Rogues can start earlier. What you need to do first is max out your pickpocket skills. Getting to mid 40's and starting it from scratch is a pain. Personally I never trained it while grouped but your approach may differ.

You can do the pickpocketing parts and get started but of course the book from Hate will have to wait unless you can find an MQ.

I would look for LDoN if you find exp grinding boring. You can shoot through the 30's in LDoN with decent groups. You won't make many points but it is more fun than static groups like HHK.

Other alternatives are some BYOG places like SolA, Kaesora (incredible exp bonus) and Dalnir. You will always get more exp in a hole in the ground than in the open.

Hey thanks for all the tips you guys are great!! I Just have 2 questions. They may seem silly but maybe not if you consider i was with out EQ for nearly 7 months and just got it back. What is an MQ and what exactly is BYOG? (bring your own gnome?)
Thanks again for the info and hope to see you in norrath

Sorry

BYOG - almost right - Bring Your Own Group. Places where you cannot go and look for a group because they are too far off the beaten track (which seems to be one zone at any given level nowadays). Any groups that are in these places will have formed up somewhere else and are unlikely to be looking for a replacement of just your type when you arrive. Better to find the people using the LFG tool and build a group to go to new places.

MQ - Multiquest.

Most, but not all, quests where you hand in several items directly to the quest NPC can be done by one person handing in one (or more) item(s) and another handing in the final item. The reqard goes to the person who hands in the last item.

For example my rogue had the Kedge Robe MQed by a friend. They handed it in to Vilnius the Small and I then handed in the other 3 robes.

Whatsisgnome in Steamfont wants the book from Hate and the note. Once he has both Renux Herkanor spawns. He can be given the items by two different people.

The most common way they prevent this is by giving you a box and the handin being the quest items combined in the box. Wherever you see this then MQ is not possible.

Thankyou for the tips!! I went to Marus Seru and there was noone in the zone so I checked out Dawnshroud Peaks. Made 30 in less than 1 and 1/2 hours!! have kinda been traveling and working on skills since then. Is there a better way to build you riposte skill than smacking a greenie and then just standing there?
