I've heard of people resurrecting EQ accounts even up to 2 years after they stopped paying for it.

I have stopped and started again twice now...first time 9 mos and the second for a year. In each case, my characters that I had not deleted were there in all their glory. In each case, I did not pay, but actually told them to cancel my account.

I quit for nearly 2 years myself and came back to my characters also. I have heard of characters getting deleted, but I don't know them to be high level, I'd only heard of lower level characters being delete(being 20 or lower).

Incorrect. They had that in the EULA (i'm not sure if they even still do, i haven't read it in awhile) to cover their ***, but they've never done a player wipe of inactive accounts... only wipes of level 1 characters.

I've recently went into an account that was almost 4 years inactive (it was some free promotion), and low and behold, my old wizard was still there.

so that includes most peoples bazaar traders with all their PP and stuff to sell

They used to do wipes of level 1 toons fairly often, back in the Verant days.

I can't even remember the last time this was done. Long enough ago that I'd feel pretty confident saying they don't do it anymore.
