Blizzards and fogFollow

#1 Apr 09 2004 at 1:08 PM Rating: Decent
Just a question, I'm not looking for a solution, so I figured it was ok to post it here.

Has anyone noticed since the last patch that the fog from one zone follows you to another? How about the blizzard sound, has anyone else had the problem where it will not go away unless you shut down EQ?

Yes! I thought it was my sound card or something. The blizzard sound (which is way too monotonous to begin with) follows me even when I camp out and log a different character. I also can't stand the sound in The Feerott but I don't recall if that one followed me or not. Playing with the sound controls in the Options Menu does not seem to effect anything either (other than main volume).

I don't know about the fog, but I have noticed the blizzard sound following my character when zoning or dying. I had been in Everfrost at the time, so I thought this was the reason, even after I ended up at the North Ro bind point.

Ahhh... Good, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I've been bugging it since it first started.

As for the fog, I was in Nektulos and it got foggy. I heading to Nejena to help out a friend and inside there was foggy too. I've seen this in several zones. I've bugged it too, not that I expect much to come out of it.

not only are weather sounds messed up,but some city theme music is messed up. Only one i know of for sure is felwithe. I hope it isnt my sound card but the music sounds kind of like a battery in a toy beginning to run out. How the toy starts slowing down the sound, its kind of like that. That isnt a good way to explain it but its the only way i know how.

Someone complained on the EQ Live Tech board about the howling wind sound from Great Divide, etc.. following them into other zones. TSR replied that it is a known issue which devs are working on. So, it is not your sound card. Unfortunately, if this is a problem you have, you will have to wait until a fix shows up in some later patch.

Does this have any relationship with the rain in indoor zones since the DX9 patch?
I find it annoying when it starts lashing down inside the crypt of Nadox. Some friends insist it's new added realism, with seepage from above ground.

Any definitive info on this?
