Item Tribute Value?Follow

I was just wondering if the tribute value for an item is set specifically for that item? No matter what, that item always has the same tribute value, no matter who donates it, or which tribute master it is donated to, right?

If so, maybe that would be some good information to add to allakhazam's... I already keep a personal log so I don't throw out stuff that I have discovered has a decent tribute value, because I use the favor points alot soloing or when I am short on time.

You have a great question, and though I don't have the answer I have done some research on the subject.
I have tried the same items with 80 charisma and 135 charisma. I received the same price for both charisma levels. Simple and while not elegant, leads me to believe that the price is set for any item until some programmer changes it.

The tribute value for an item is available on Lucy for premium members of Allakhazam.

I find this information invaluable. I never sell an item without checking the tribute value first. Sometimes the current price in the Bazaar is greatly undervalued compared to an item’s value in tribute. When this occurs I turn the item in for tribute.

I have noticed that I always receive the same number of points as specified in the entry from Lucy, which leads me to believe it is not affected by faction or charisma.

Several time I have found items where the tribute value was worth twenty times more than the selling price in the bazaar. I thought it was worth it to buy it up and turn it in. This causes me to wonder what ratio most people would consider reasonable when evaluating selling an item or turning it in. I am not so familiar with the value of purchasing buffs with cash versus enhancements purchased with tribute points. Any comments?

I have seen the same thing...
some items are more valuable as a tribute turn in.
Most of my mob trash goes to the tribute master.
I usually get 2 to 3 times what a merchant will give for it.
Interestingly enough though...
I have yet to use the tribute buffs since you can get virtue or temperance for a donation of a peridot and some plat for a couple hour dose.
Kei is almost always available for a small sum of plat for a minmum two and a half hour shot.
Also don't forget all those nice shammy buffs that are often available. All of which are much less expensive than the tribute cost per 10 minutes.
Then we get into extended % casts which just make the tribute master a point bank until the time I really need the buffs and no kei/virtue casters are available.

Nearly all tribute buffs stack with regular buffs, so why not use them? Only ones I think don't are bard instrument ones and haste. Both my paladin and shaman have FT4 and Regen 8 from tribute running all the time, wifes bard runs Stringed instrument (for mana/hp regen song) and...uh... whichever instrument is for mez/charms along with FT3/Regen6.

Anyway, yes, they are a set value. The only thing I turn in however are architect BP's, as they have the best plat:point ratio (Sell for 7k in bazzar, trade in for 24k points). Normally my wife and I farm City of Mist for Iron Masks and Rune Shields when we need points, give the shields to alts to trade in (Worth 1600 points), sell the masks for 5k in the bazaar and buy architect BP's to use for points. 24k points lasts a long time, even running level 4 tribute bonuses.
