I have helped get the temp spell more than once. Killing the place holder three times and the female Euridite spawns. Temp!!!!

A friend explained he was never able to get the Euridite to spawn. He has tried before with no luck. Well with 100% confidence we head there to kill the place holder 3X and temp!

Three hours later 9 place holders later we go to bed!

Any ideas what is up with that????

I have heard that the female erudite can spawn on the other side of the beach area...normally it is to the left as you look up the beach, next to a ship's ruins...the palce you are probably at. But I know a guildie who told me that he was doing the same and no spawns...then he ran around to the other side and saw her over there.

When I did it, she spawned right where she was supposed to.

One more thing...has your friend actually started the quest by speaking to the guy back by the lighthouse? I read on a board somewhere that if you did no do that, the Erudite would not spawn for you...although that seems unlikely.

Sorry I do not havce any answers. Maybe if you have someone with track come with you while you kill you can make checks to see if she is popping elsewhere.

me thinks its just random. I helped a cleric bud of mine about 2 weeks ago to get his temp spell. Took us about 4 hours to get the spirit to spawn. And I was clearing PH and practically every mob on the beach. Patience grasshopper :)

I killed all the spawns on the other side out of boredom!!!! I killed on the beach our of boredom!!!

I went on Saturday with a guildie and 1, 2, 3 Temp! Went a month back with a guildie 1, 2, 3 Temp!

This time nothing just has me confused.

The Cleric has went through the entire process and has the item to give to her that will make her rest in peace or whatever the guy at the lighthouse says it will do for her.

We are going back tonight....also I watched for the male who spawns just to the left of the boat towards the rock. He never spawn so I know he was not preventing her from popping. My friend wondered if perhaps him being a Dark Elf was the problem due to race. That seems so unlikely but at this point you begin to question anything that changes what is normal.

Just keep at it. I spent many hours there with my cleric and she finally spawned where she is supposed to. I thought she wasn't popping anymore, that something was wrong --- the way many people get when camping a rare spawn.

Just be patient and due diligence will reward you :-)

Just look on it as practise for your epic which is full of long camps with endless placeholders.

The female Erudite does seem to take a long time to spawn. I don't remember specifically when my cleric got it, but I know wich my necro I will spend hours clearing the undead side of the beach - male Erudite is almost always there, yet the female rarely ever shows up. Last time it did, there were no less than five clerics in line to do the turn-in.

The female respawns about every 25 minutes I think (at least for me). It took me about 3 hours to complete it. Patience is what you need. Yes, it's random too. Just keep killing the place holder and... waiting (hoping)... the female spirit will pop next.

Good luck!

We did the quest for our fine cleric buddy and it took us one PH kill to get her to spawn. She popped right where she was supposed to. I also helped a guildie do it and we were there for over 4 hours. All I can suggest is keep killing the PH. It is tedious, uneventful and largely a waste of time since the spell will only be useful to you for a short period of time, but keep at it. It's a milestone. :)

Well, lets just say it is luck of the draw. The cleric was frustrated so I went and camped it alone. Finally she spawn but he had logged off. Thinking it was shot then I logged off. Five hours later I ran into the cleric told him to give it a shot maybe she would be there. Well luck had it and no one has killed her and obviously she does not despawn. He got his temp. Good luck to others that get temp!!!

She will spawn eventually. The beach has plenty of mobs, so get some people together and camp right by her spawn point and kill everything on the beach. Fun times, good XP and plenty of loot. And you will get your spawn too. (Just make sure everyone in the group knows what you are waiting for and that they do not attack her in a frenzy! lol).

Not sure what is meant by only using this spell for a short period of time. For starters, when you get this at 44, you cannot get virtue. Then you have people you group with to consider...you will use it anytime you group with those who cannot get virtue...so conceivably until you hit level 53 (46 +7 in the case of LDON).

Now, if you are talking about the group temp spell, well, that requires 150 Tak points. I can tell you from experience that Tak is the hardest adventure to get people to go on. While I will be able to buy this spell in one level I will not have the points for several levels. On top of that it takes 2 DOTs...there will be plenty of times that you will want to temp one person only.

All in all temp is worth every minute it took to get it. I have done far longer and more boring quests for much less loot.

Temp is also a good money maker...set up shop at the BB camp or the any other camp for that matter and you will get plenty of people to donate for it.

I helped a friend's cleric get the spell a few weeks ago. We spent an entire weekend camping the placeholder(I get to the point where I say, the next one will be the named spawn I just know it. And lo and behold! I can't leaveSmiley: smile) We finally got her to spawn when we logged on Monday evening.

Random spawns are just that, random. Could be 1 placeholder or 100. You just have to hope you're not on the bad side of SOE's random spawn generator that day.Smiley: wink2

By the way, if you want REAL horror stories about waiting for a random spawn, try asking some clerics about thier wait for the named spawn they need in Sol A for the epic. Some of those waits are BRUTAL.
