Last week I rolled a DE SK and managed to level him to 24 (yes, he is wearing most of my 47 warrior's gear) despite the wretched 1001 Errors and inability to log on. Smiley: mad Very cool race/class by the way.

I have already leveled my Barb Warrior and HE Druid well into their 40's, and took the FoB/Kurn's/PC/HHK highway both times. At 24, I am ready to leave PC, but I really don't feel like trekking out to the over-camped, KSing HHK zone, yet again. I'm bored with it, really.

So, I am seeking opinions on where to take a lvl 24 DE SK. Fighting undead is nice, but not mandatory. An indoor zone with xp bonus is also not critical but would help get me up to the people I like to group with faster. I keep coming back to Netherbian Lair and Unrest.

Any thoughts about these or other zones? I do prefer to group, if that helps.

If you have decent resist gear (or the money to acquire it) I'd highly recommend SolA. It is close to Neriak, the mobs have almost trivial quantities of HP, hit for a pittance, and the zone has a nice ZEM (+73%, like najena and unrest, slightly lower than HHK's +100%).

You can go all the way to level 37 here before moving to SolB. If you are looking to solo, this is a great place to do it unmolested. If you want to group, bring people with you.

Marus Seru is nice too.

Advantages: people/groups, always daylight, see clearly for a long way.

Anyone else start to hum the Flying Circus theme when they saw the title of this thread?

Although illogic somehow I rather thought of "Always look on the Bright Side of Life" :)

Isn't SolA too high for a solo 25? Alla has it listed as 25-45. Has it been nerfed, or ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?? Smiley: wink

And yes - the Monty Python reference was definitely intended. I hear the phrase in John Clesse's (it was him, right?) voice whenever I think of it.

naw, sol A is a good place as well, stick with the gobbies first til about lvl 35 or so. Just watch for the wizards, they can nuke hard at that lvl. Once you get past the gobbies, you can start taking out the clockwork gnomes. Some of em have a knockback so keep your back to the wall. If I remember correctly, the gnomes can take you to lvl 42 or 43 maybe even higher.

Yes, it was John Cleese.

I'd just like to add that the Monty Python series on DVD is worth every penny. One knows comedy is great when it can withstand the test of time.

I won't give you zone suggestions as others have already covered it well.

It really depends on your gear. If you have decent resists, and you are convincing enough to get a couple of people to come with you, I think you would enjoy it. It is a nicely designed dungeon. The kind of place where a year from now you might look back and remember the time you wiped out in the bartender's room fondly - as opposed to remembering how you got KSed in HHK waiting for the 6 mobs to respawn.

But doing it solo just depends on your gear. And don't fall in the lava... :)

As a necro, I spent my mid- to upper-20s at the skeleton ruins in LoIO just past the windmill. That whole area (between windmill and Sarnak fort) is full of wandering mobs good for that level. Also try Echo Caverns needlites if you still need to raise your defensive skills.
