Collector's Kerran Doll - worth it?Follow

I wanted to complete the scavenger hunt for my lvl 15 mage, went to Kerra and tried to kill some cats near the zone entrance... they were really hard, and I didn't get a single collectors doll. So one night, I decided to bring my lvl 20 warrior and kill the Kerrans at the back of the zone. Entered a hut with a single Kerran, conned blue, casted like hell and was REALLY hard to kill (20% hp left). No doll. I sat down, regenerated, re-entered the same hut and tried again. Boom, i was dead (although i bashed, slashed, kicked,...) 'cause he didn't stop to heal himself. Back on the way to Kerra, looted the body, decided to kill the single cat that guards the kobold(?) prisoners. This one was easier, 30%, 20%, HEY, where you think you're going? There he ran, got some of his pals, down I went for the second time AND I LOST LVL AND LAST NAME! ARGH! The books in PoK didn't want to bring me to Toxx anymore (neither Paineel book nor Erudin book, anyone knows why that?) so, back on the way to Kerra, through Toxx forest by night, BANG a skelly crushes me - 3rd death in a row. Finally i managed to retrieve my body, get all my stuff and leave Kerra. I returned with my mage, asked a high lvl guy to kill one of the Kerrans near the entrance (thanx a lot!) and that one finally dropped the collectors doll! Was that all really worth it???

Bbot. If the highest level character you can bring to bear to do the scavanger quest is level 20, you're going to have a heck of a time. The LGuk and MM bits will be virtually impossible for you to complete.

The Kerran bit is one of the easier pieces to be honest. If you can't do that one, you'll need help from someone higher level then you anyway. If you can get that help, then go for it. If you can't, then you can't complete the quest.

Well, you could see my message as a warning for lower lvls... Don't try alone! :)

And does anyone know why the books in PoK didn't work anymore?

I didn't realise you needed to kill Kerrans to do this.

Thanks for the heads up. Another quest I won't finish.

Spectres in Feerott would be a bit tough at 20 too.

Kerrans-Schmerrans Smiley: wink

Don't get me wrong -- if you don't want to do it, don't do it but the amount of people who I've heard complain about the Kerran thing astounds me. Ok, fine.. they never did anything to you, but when was the last time you were in Kerra Isle?

Agreed with Gbaji about the quest for a lvl 20. Unless you have a high level walk you through, I don't see you doing the LGuk, MM, Splitpaw, Feerott, etc parts. I guess you could do the skunk part Smiley: lol

Sorry, Jophiel. I'm just like that.

Kerrans and kejekans are the humble relatives of the Vah Shir and deep down somewhere I think I must be Vah Shir. I couldn't even kill Shanai for that all/all graphic robe which does look great on a rogue.

Perhaps I need therapy.

Well, I'm not going to argue with you about it since it affects me none and makes you happy.

On the other hand, making an Iksar beastlord is a great way to get over your inhibitions about killing cat-folk. Those Kerrans made for some nice hunting. I tried xp'ing on the Stonebrunt docks (pre-LoY) but the spawn rate on the cats was insanely slow. Still always nabbed any passing Kejeks though while I stalked wildlife and kobolds Smiley: sly

Or you can get someone else to kill the Kerrans for you if you don't want the faction hit. When I did the quest (first night), there were enough folks running around killing stuff, that if you just sat around for awhile, someone would shout that there was a doll at X loc rotting. I suppose that now, you'll probably have to bring someone to do the killing for you.

It's not the faction. I just have a soft spot for them. I'm completely daft.
