...why this post of mine has a rating of 1.72 compared to my usual 2.40:

I downloaded the maps from http://www.mapfiend.net/ (aka eq-toolbox.com). Very good maps of Shar Vahl and Shadeweavers.

I just checked the link - this is awesome stuff! Thanks a lot!

cos you upset someone again. Prolly on an unrelated topic and not satisfied with nuking the post that annoyed them, the hunted you down with vigor and acted like a child.

Sounds about right tarv.

Seems some folks are more interested in rating people rather than posts. (I'm sure I've rated you guys both up and down depending on the particualr posts.)

I still think the rating system's worth having, but the downside is that some folks mess it up by being thin-skinned, vindictive, or good old fashioned stupid.

I didn't realize it, but somehow I had the default filter settings turned on. I turned them off and now many of the threads here make a lot more sense because I can now see Leiany's posts.

Does the default filter only filter out Leiany? Perhaps it can be renamed the "Leiany Filter"? Smiley: jester

The filter probably filters out anybody under 2.50 which might explain it.

Does that mean that even the threads I opened myself lacked the starting post in your case? *lol*

There's been someone nuking entire threads this past week.

Can someone either post the links to the threads that are bein nuked here, or e-mail them to me? I'll take care of it.

I saw the beastlord thread you started, but many of your posts within other threads were missing (with the default filter). I noticed it mostly in the EQ aspects still uncovered on the web? thread, but now that I have the filter off, there is no problem :)

Seems like Alla's needs some kind of faction quest or community service that can be done to raise karma.

Hail the Liberators

Okay, I could just find this one. It appears every post in the thread was nuked, until I mentioned it.

Leiany got severly nuked in a couple other threads, but it appears to be "heat of battle" type nukes.

Not sure about about whole threads but i know that every single one of my posts this week in EQMain has been rated down at least once, they often are rated back up or are over my basic score but without fail at some point they are rated down.

It seems whomever it is hasn't been on yet today as the two posts i have done haven't 'Dipped' yet but i seemed to have pissed someone off.

Leiany gets it worse than me, i don't think i can find anything she has written for a while that hasn't been nuked. on this thread at one point she got to 3+ before dropping again.

I've noticed a couple of threads that have been arbitrarily rated down(bring out the nerf bats thread on main EQ forum being one).

My response when I've seen it is to rate all the posts in the affected thread up to try and counteract whoever is doing it(that doesn't help my rating as I can't rate my own posts, but I'm probably doomed to dip below 3.01 rating eventually anyways, so oh wellSmiley: wink2).

As far as leiany's posts being rated down...she's been a bit, shall we say, caustic with her comments lately, so I'm not that surprised people are possibly approaching her posts in a negative view. Is that a good way to act with the rating system the way it is? No, but it is human nature after all.

I post, I rate...I am sure others do also. Everyone doesn't share the same opinion on all comments. I doubt that one person's rating a post down can ruin an overall rating. So logically more than one person is rating up or down. The system seems to working as designed. Post to your hearts content and Rate away...

Well its not only that I don't care about my rating (I was just curious as the threads title implied hopefully) - being under 3.01 at least rids me of any suspicion that I myself might be one of those who nuke-rate :-))
