2HS for SKFollow

#1 Apr 01 2004 at 4:09 AM Rating: Decent
I'm a newbie, and have a DE SK (at level 12..just!)
I bought a Shaded Blade with a kind pp donation from someone, but I have since been told on more than one occasion that I should be using 2H...is this right?
If so what 2HS should I look for?

ta!

Until you get to level 50, use the weapon you can afford with the best ratio (1H or 2H). It is worthwhile getting a 2H and keeping your skill up, since post level 50 or so, you will most likely be using a 2H weapon most of the time. Here are some good cheap 2H weapons.

Blackened Alloy ******* Sword
Centi Warspear

If you can save up some money, you can usually pick up one of these for 5kpp or so on FV

in addition to Patricians list, here (cheap) weapons with a low delay (low delay means more swings per fight, more possible skill ups). Keeping all your weapon skills maxxed is not a bad thing (but not a must though).

2HS: http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=414 (Ornate Rune Blade) 100-250 PP

2 HB: http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=479 (Ketchata Koro Mis) 50-200 PP

1 HS: http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=10182 (Shissars Knighg Sword) - 35-100 PP

1 HB: http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=86 (Iksar Berserker Club) most expensive one, sells for 1 k ish.

Piercing (both 1HP and 2HP): http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=15871 (Forged Deathsteel Dagger ) - 20-100 PP

I myself always keep them handy for skilling up. damage is not the best, but if needed, you can always switch to a weapon with higher damage.

PS: could somebody please tell me how I link those weapons directly, without posting the name and the hyperlink seperate, e.g. as Patrician did? cheers :)

Disclaimer: all prices average for Kane Bayle, might be different on other servers.

yes you should use 2hds but i use 1hds its like a 13 dmg with a 27 delay and i use a really nice shield that helps add alot of strength and stuff but i will just use both since i have a 2hds that is 24 dmg, delay 36

Your medium term goal as an SK is to save up enough money (I paid 6kpp for one for my SK) by the time you hit 56 to buy a War Marshall's Bladed Staff. According to parses done on the SK boards, it's the best DPS (damage per second) reasonably available droppable 2hander. And it has the added benefit of being extremely cheap compared with something like a windblade.

So yes, keep up those 2 hand slash skills. But there are some pretty darned amazing droppable 1handers also, so don't ignore your 1hs and 1hb.

I know this isn't really what you asked, but I always kind of liked having something way off in the future to shoot for on my characters.

You could always pick up a Fabled Dark Reaver. Got mine for 6k. I use it over my WMBS. The DPS difference is negligible between the two until your 60's (FDR might beat it before that), but the best part about it is no recommended level.

Until 20, get a Ornate Blade (the one that drops in COM - 19/30 or something) or a Nathsar Greatsword. The low delay will help keep your skills up.

My Sk uses an Argent Protector. Old-fashioned but still packs a wallop. He is permanently grouped with an enchanter though so haste is always on. It is one of the better weapons available without level limitation. The Fabled weapon Grady mentioned is No Drop except on FV I believe.

Paladins and SKs get some really nice 1 handers quite cheaply because of the class restriction. Look out for a Shard of Night to practise your piercing. And for 1HB a MOSS should set you back all of 50pp.

I keep forgetting about the sad bastards on other servers with no drop rules...
