LOS ANGELES, CA - Gaming companies are filing lawsuits for on-line copyright infringement against several on-line sites.
In the wake of the various lawsuits currently being file by the music industry for copyright infringements, Sony On-line Entertainment (SOE) has recently launched their own crackdown by filing several lawsuits to several on-line sites that includes cannotlinkto, WTF Comics, AllaKhazam.com, EQTraders.com, and Monkly-Business.com.
According to SOE spokesman Timothy Brenlo, these on-line sites were one of the major factor for SOE's decline in subscription sales in recent months. These sites undermine and detracts the game from the subscriber with various game cheats and account sales.
In the early phase, SOE plans to identify and locate the owners of these sites through court-issued subpoenas. The company seeks over 30 million dollars in damages and lost revenue between the several on-line sites.
Owners of the already identified on-line sites listed in the lawsuit were not available for comment.
