Question about Towers of Frozen ShadowFollow

I am taking a group from my guild to ToFS soon. I understand we need a key to progress to each floor. My question is this...

If I take more than 6 (which makes a group) and put us in raid mode, will one key teleport us to the next floor or will we be forced to be in 6 man groups with keys in each group?

If not can I back out of the room through the entrance and pick up the next group to teleport?

I figure my last resort is to bind at the entrance, gate pick up the next group and teleport. After you get past level 3 that gets a bit harry. Level four has undead and live which means invis or undead vs. invis will not cover you to find the group at the mirror.

Anyone that knows the answer to this it would save a huge learning curve or have suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

I know that you only need one key to take your whole group through the mirrors, but that the mirrors are only one way. Each floor has a key, and upper floor keys give access to all floors below. You can get the Master Key by killing the vampire queen (Tserrina) on the top floor.

I'm really not sure of the answer to your question about taking multiple groups through the mirrors. I think you probably could. It's important that all your group(s) stand as close as possible to the mirror before you click on it to zone to the next floor as it will not take anyone who is out of range.

There are exit mirrors on each floor as well, but they don't take you to the previous level, they take you completely out of the tower to the entrance. Respawn time is 15 - 20 mins, if I'm not mistaken, so if you've fought your way to the 3rd or 4th floor and zone out through an exit mirror, you're gonna have to fight all those mobs again to get back where you were.

ToFS is a very cool zone and you will have a blast there. Plus, there is some decent loot. Especially the drops from Tserrina.

Im trying to get a full set of keys before the trip so we can gather a second set as we go. Hopefully this will fix any problems. Thanks for the input! I have been there the past few nights and it is a rather cool zone. Below my level but we still have had a blast exploring!

Each group needs a key. It's easy if you have the keys on a character that can egress/decess to zone, as they can then invis to undead (potions, don't forget the potions) and run back up for the other group. Or, just farm one key per group.

I loved that place. Have fun. :)

Muse has a really good write-up on the keys and what's needed for them (who you need to kill I mean) on the www.eqatlas.com webite. ToFS is one of my favorite zones in the game. I'm not sure if the key to, say the 3rd floor, will open up the lower floors. I've never thought to try it. I always though you needed the key for each floor. Once you use it, though, it gets put on your keyring.

On each floor, there is a mirrow that will take you to the next floor (if you have the key of course) and one that will take you back out to Iceclad. Get the map, and learn where those exits are, and beware of the derivish's that are out there.

keys are easy enough to get there. just spend a few extra minutes getting another set or more. 1 complete raid night there and you can pretty much have everyone a set of keys for the first few floors...if not more. plus you'll build skill so coming back will be a cake-walk.

Keys do give access to all lower floors so if you are trying for a full set take another person with you and let them have the penultimate key. Then you can take 2 groups all the way to the penultimate floor (with you and the other person with the key indifferent groups) and just hunt for the last key.

Yes, there is a master key. It is one of the drops received for defeating Tserrina. Once you have the master key, you can zone directly to the top of the tower without having to fight your way up each floor.

Since they added the keyring, keying in this zone acts a bit different from what I remember. I have many chars with many different keys and some master keys from Tserrina.

The keyring only shows 1 ToFS key, the highest floor key you have attained.. I will test this again but pretty sure now if you get a higher key you do not need the lower floor keys.

As I originally posted I am taking some peeps from the guild there. So this week has been scouting. It started with just checking it out with a few friends which we are all over level 50. It has turned into an all week afair and a great time. No experience, no real equipment drops that would be an upgrade except a killer no drop head piece for the cleric came off the Enraged relative but the loot there if you can carry it all back is worth some very good plat. All in all I have to say it has been the most enjoyable zone we have been in. At 50+ it is a challenge, level 4 was a killer. We lost out Wizzy last night cause she was so eager to get Cara she walked into a few mobs alone. Finding her was tough, I am a Nec so we tracked her corpse but in long corridors so entwined with pits unseen it was tough. We got to Cara which was the easiest part of it! The wedding party was a blast the bride needed a make over big time. So we stopped at level 6 due to time. We will finish up tonight so we have the keys for the guild. The druid can succor to first and move up pulling the groups over and over to the floors. Just the 4th floor is gonna be tough to navigate alone until we understand the flow of the halls. We are hoping to have two fulls sets of keys by raid time and pick up a third set as we go.

I wish I had known about this place in my 40's it would of been great experience, great loot and a lot of fun in a group. As for the keys if I type /keys it shows I have 5 keys to ToFS. I know the Master will take you straight to the top floor once we get it. But all her loot is no-drop and only good for casters. The other floors have things for other people so I am not sure why you would not go to the other floors. I can see as a guild it would really benefit all caster's to take them straight there for no-drop items. As a guild that key could serve a very useful purpose.

Thanks for all the responses saved me some testing time on how to move the groups around if I am short on keys.

Yeah, it only shows 1 key entry though correct?

I looted 5th floor key on one of my chars, only one he has and it says ToFS key 5 or something like that, which is the same as one of my other chars that got 1-5 keys.

With the keyring, ToFS is alot more enjoyable. Before it was a PAIN for CR, you needed banked keys on an alt or Corpse Summons.

Still one of my favorite zones in the game.
