I'm usually the one answering this type of thread, not starting one, however, I can't login to the game and EQLive doesn't say anything about there being a patch. It shows all servers up and running and the last scheduled downtime was last Thursday. Normally, I'd find something else to do until I could login, but this is my last morning on EQ and wanted to get on one last time. Oh well.
Checked it outmyself too. Did a Google search for "everquest server status."
The first link that came up sent me to where you are talking about. However, the second one (indented) sent me to the same one, but updated. Should be up around 10am EST if all goes well.

On 3/30/2004 at 4am all English Servers will be coming down for a Scheduled update
On Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at 4am pst (-8 UTC), all english language everquest servers (all but Kael Drakkal and Sebilis) will be coming down for a scheduled update. Estimated downtime is 3 hours.

I've never seen the server status at eq live working correctly, but the tech support forum is usually up to the second about stuff like that.
Any more news on this? Typically, this has happened on the one very rare day when I could have played for ages. Bah!
It's 4.10 pm now BST (Yes, we're back on British Summer Time in this crazy country) The servers were due to be back up by now but I still can't log in.
Anybody know an ETA? Let me guess 2 minutes before the misses gets home. Double Bah!
I'll be straight into Kurns Tower to try and ding 15 when it's back. Anyone LFG?

Should be any time now, no word yet to say otherwise.
