So, what'd yawl (a type of sailboat) do this weekend?

Me, I puttered around a bit in everquest. Didn't do to much, or get anythign really of note accompleshed.

Spent most of saturday installing the new power supply and sleaving the fan lines. Those of you that are interested in improving computer case airflow, sleaving is definitly the way to go.

Installed my sound card too. Audigy 2 zs platinum. An improvement over the audigy I that was in there. the audigy I now goes into the "frankenstein box" that contains pieces of many, many other computers i've owned over the years. Now all I need are those nice 7.1 surround speakers, and I'll be all set!

So, anyone else do anything more interesting?

I spent all day Saturday sanding some old bookshelves so my wife can paint them. Then got on EQ around 8pm and puttered about, didn't get much of anything done other than picking up some spells I didn't have yet and dying in Skyshrine because I'm an idiot and just HAD to find out what the dragons con to me without Gather Shadows... Then spent the next hour doing a corpse run.

Sunday I did the same thing I do almost every Sunday. I GM'd my weekly D&D game, and made it home just in time for Sunday dinner.

That's about it...

Dorked around on my alt rogue mostly. Reached lvl 43 and got Make Poison up to 170-odd. Most my bard did all weekend was make runs to the Steamfonts for King's Thorn and sat around Gunthak fishing up Ovate Jellyfish. Tried to get my OT hammer before I one day mess up my VS faction and found that my Illusion: Dark Elf'd, Bristlebane following rogue didn't have the faction (apprehensive). I really, really, really don't want to farm braids, but then I really, really, really don't want to be stuck somewhere without any form of Gate, either. Bleah -- stupid Foreman.

Messed around with Ikkinz raids and progression flags. Last night was nice - one of our mages got Monster Summoning V and cast a nice muramite looking pet... named Laser. Cutest pet EVER.

Spent part of yesterday PLing my cleric/mage combo in Skyfire, hoping for shards. Mage pet can tank anything there - well, except guardian wurms and Talendor, of course. Easy PL for the cleric, who is nearly 49 now.

Friday night was quest night.

With an off night raid force we were off to slay Seru but SoE hit us with the full bug fest that was its last patch. Zone lag, LDs, 10 second full freezes, warping, people falling off the world, mobs falling through walls .... need I continue. We wiped on 40%. Last week we would have killed him easily.
Oh need I mention the bug where if you die your corpse pops with you at your bindpoint with no way to rez you back into the raid?

/rude SoE patch.

Our Sunday raid was also affected by the SoE bugs. We still killed grummus and blob one in VT. But it was all hard word with persistant LDs, freezes, lag, mobs falling through walls etc etc.

My current dream would be for SoE to revoke the latest patches and go back to last weeks sofware.

Hmmm, but it is not all bad news.

We did find one near bugless zone .. Sol Ro Smiley: grin

Over half the guild is now fully flagged for it thanks to our backflagging efforts. We took a mini raid in and killed 2 more Sol Ro named. Luckily we are only the third guild on the server to gain access to this area and the other 2 guilds farm Plane of Time. This leaves us easy access to kill bosses for flags and great upgrades for ourselves for a few weeks/months.

Friday - A bit of 2 boxing followed by over-ambitious 3-boxing followed by much rezzing Smiley: frown

Saturday - PL'd my Beastlord a bit then got bored so took my Necro to PC - could only stand the pre-teen atmoshpere for a half hour but Ding 20 Smiley: grin

Sunday - Solo'd the Dru for a while (he was getting rusty) and put on a few % exp in Nadox

Monday - RL employer Faction Quest. My RL Guild Leader must be concerned at my fizzle rate so I was away training in a safe zone today. I spent much of the morning skilling up my divination rate with 'Spirit of Flip-Chart' and the afternoon trying out conjuration with 'Qeynos Overhead Projector'. Sadly, by mid-afternoon I noticed the Trainer was a Green-con (aren't they always in RL) so I Camo'd up and zoned out early Smiley: wink

friday night - played AoM some...went out partying and realized (again) why i hate clubs, almost got into fists with some losers and spent the night not talking with gf.

saturday - tension kept me from focusing, but managed to get in some mindless AoM games and lots of time sitting staring at the screen while toon was /LFG. finally logged off and took care of RL business then went to sleep early.

sunday - logged in and took warrior to solb to get in line for Fabled Mithril BP. after dying a few times due to complete madness from complete morons that thought it was absolutely funny to wait until everyone got ready then train ALL the fabled onto us, I decided that I'm glad these fools can hide behind their computer..otherwise I'd be behind bars for murder.

left and took druid to chardok to help guild with some epic pieces. made it all the way to king without any CC when the slower had to leave. one try for king without slower or CC and we were buying coffins. decided that was enough for the night so i ended it at gf's parents house eating hot pot. mMMmMmm.

I did not get to spend the time I would have liked this weekend in game. Had too much real life stuff to do.

Was able to begin working in earnest on my Takish adventure points so that I can buy my group temp spell.

Had played two Takish adventures in my mid-20s and they were both disasters. Bad groups, chanter mobs worked us bad. First time had no chanter in our group for CC and second time the chanter did not know how to CC...a skill that is still being worked on in the 20s so it was not her fault.

I did 3 Takish adventures this weekend and all went just fine. In fact there was not even a close call in them. Very smooth and fun. Each time with a different group as I could only devote enought time for one adventure each sit-down.

Last night I accompanied my son's 45 warrior to get the item from the chessboard in Timorous Deep for his epic. While we were there, we stopped by the Spirok bird house and killed a few parrots, until we realized there was another group on the other side of the island pulling them as well. We left that location and swam to the raptor island. Big mistake. What an agro range those buggers have. We could have taken one or two with no trouble...even 3 would have been doable with some rooting. But no, we had 6 on us. I kept him alive long enough for us to swim to a rock away from the island beach to die so corpse retrieval will not be a difficult task. And so there lie our little dwarf bods until we can make a corpse run (or should I say swim) this afternoon.

i made a shadow knight on friday night and leveled him up to 35 by sunday morning, then spent a bunch of time sparring him and my druids lvl 30 pet to catch his skills up. that pet is great for that purpose as he only hits for like 15 max dmg. throw druid pet buff on him with pot9/replenishment and its perfect. and i played mvp2004 a few times. fun game.

Saturday - drove up to my folks' house then took the train back home. Good day to walk across town. Watched a special "Bonded by Baseball" about Japan's interest in the American pasttime, in lieu of the Yankees-(Tokyo) giants game that was really on Sunday.
edit: also played a quick adventure with my necro. Died once, finished the task, then died again in Butcherblock to those stupid Skeleton Commanders/Lieutenants. They have some crazy aggro range!

Sunday - watched the replay of said baseball game, did laundry, then spent a few hours with my cleric in PoV. Actually got a gold bubble of exp!

Friday-XP group in Earth. Did a LDoN with friends. Spent the better portion of my playtime getting a friends Wizard ready to come out of the Mothballs. Put some gear on him, got (or made) him all the spells he was missing up to level 58 (he is currently 57).

Saturday-Spent some time in the morning 2 boxing my Necro and Druid. Put a level on the Necro and made a nice chunk of change in the process. Gotta love level 65 Mage pet toys! 8) Did some XP groups in Earth and in BoT with friends who are not EP flagged. Later on guild did Ikkinz raidsz #'s 3 & 4.

Sunday-Time day for guild. Spent some time finishing up the spells for my friends Wizzy. Knew it would be a LONG night raiding so didn't feel like doing much beforehand XP wise. I did some merchant mining then I decided to do something I haven't done in a LONG time. I saddled up my horse Fizzle and went from Halas to Freeport. With the new graphics it was beautiful! Sat for some time in West Karana watching the sun set and the night sky. Logged for a bit before raids to do chores and get some dinner then came back on to do the raid.
