Travelers' BootsFollow

#1 Mar 29 2004 at 6:56 AM Rating: Decent
Good morning,
Where might I buy Travelers' Boots in this game? I have searched the bazaar in Nexus, but couldn't find any. Does somebody know where I can get them. I am a level 19 human Paladin...with a plodding problem. LOL Thank you.

Sol A dungeon with the gnome merchant - but you gotta get through some late 25-30 lovel gobbys (or have invis) to get there, Also bring about 6000 plat depending on Charisma.\

Good Luck

Just as a thought that 6k will buy you around 75 10-shot SoW potions. That is roughly 250 hours of SoW.

Granted the boots (which are no drop I believe) are always with you and cost nothing after the first 6k. However I think you could make it to a level where you don't need them (51 and 3AA) without getting through that many potions. For a start you will spend a lot of time in dungeons where they don't work. Or in groups with a shaman/druid/ranger/beastlord who can cast SoW.

I know I felt the same as a cleric. I kept needing to ask for a SoW to get me anywhere. In retrospect I could have managed without if I'd known what I know now. Then one day I bumped into the AC while crossing S.Ro and my problem was over.

I got Tboots long ago when I was around lvl40 (paladin)
They were worth every copper and still use them even though I have run3(30%) tboots are 35% speed increase.
The impact they had was huge. I could travel in relative safety or escape if I had to or got trained.
Get CHA up to 130+ and a little faction building and he sells them for 5250p.
Nice thing is you dont have to risk a Jboot Multi-quest that might be a scam.
1 tip: I keep my tboots in a pack that is right next to my hot button bank then i put a hot button of that pack on the button bank so its quick and easy to just left-clk to open pack grab boots put in hot button bank rt-clk and and i am sowed.
Its saved me from many pissed-off mobs

Are T-boots instaclick or do they require a cast time? I know that J-boots are instaclick and I was just wondering about the T-boots.

Traveler's boots have a 1.5 second cast time.

No Traveller boots are not the same as Journeymans boots.
Difference has already been noted in the above posts.

Thank you...everybody! I was going nuts trying to find out about these boots. I was beginning to think that they really didn't exist. I guess I will have to wait awhile until I can afford them. Until then I'll find a way to get into dying. LOL! Thanks again!

Uhh Jonwin, nobody said anything about JBoots in the above posts, look again. He was asking if the speed of the boots are the same as JBoots. Nobody mentioned the speed of JBoots here.

And no I don't know it either.

I think the speed is the same. The difference (aside from the fact that the JBoots are quested and the TBoots are bought) is that the JBoots are instant, and the TBoots have a cast time.

If you can't get jboots yourself then I recommend multiquest. I would be willing to bet that it's still cheaper then Tboots and Jboots are better.

Speed difference is the same. Thats why I said the difference had been noted above. Ie. cast time for t boots.

For 6000 PP I would level up a Shaman and make my own SoW potions.

Then I could make Agility potions too and run even faster Smiley: grin

I have to agree with the posters that pointed out the JBoots are instacast. It may not seem like much, but when you are in an outdoor zone and get dispelled, 1.5 seconds is the difference between a rez and getting out with 10% health. Buy a JBoots MQ or camp the AC. It's a pain, but in the long run for a non-sowing class it is WELL worth it.
