Unknown Cleric Quest for Erollisi MarrFollow

#1 Mar 28 2004 at 6:49 PM Rating: Decent
All right. I did a search for this quest and I can't find it, so I thought I'd post it here. It starts in North Freeport in the Temple of Erollisi Marr:

Serna Tasknon says:
"It is a good thing to see new faces visiting our temple. We are the source of strength within this city. Do not be fooled by the freeport militia. They are not warriors of valor. [Join the fight against the Freeport Militia]."

respond "I will join the fight against the Freeport Militia"

"You are wise. If you are a Paladin, either speak with Theron of this temple or visit the Hall of Truth here in North Freeport. Clerics should concentrate on keeping the knights strong and healty. Would you care to [assist the Temple of Marr]?"

respond "I will assist the Temple of Marr"

"Good. Take this potion of Marr to the Sentries of Passion. They are the proctectors of this temple. Start in Alphabetical order and the first shall take but a sip then you shall take it to the next in order of the alphabet. There are but eight sentries. Sentry Andlin to Sentry Xyrin. Go."

I can't quote the rest at the moment, but then the last sentry before Xyrin tells you that Sentry Xyrin has not yet returned from visiting the Sisters of Erollisi in the Ocean of Tears. Travel there and talk to the sister she was visiting and she tells you that the sentry left on a ship right before the storm, so she might be lost at sea or shipwrecked on an island.

That's where I'm stuck and I have yet to find the sentry. I can't find this quest in the listings. Maybe I didn't look in the right places or something, but I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about it, because I've already combed over all of the Ocean of Tears but under the water and found nothing.

That's it. I'm surprised I didn't pick her up on tracking with my bard. Guess it was only listed in the zone she was in, and not the temple one. Thanks a bunch. :) Bit of a bummer it's only for Paladins, seeing as my cleric got it. Ah well.

As I've found all to often you have to take what they say in EQ quite literally:

Quote:
If you are a Paladin, either speak with Theron of this temple or visit the Hall of Truth here in North Freeport. Clerics should concentrate on keeping the knights strong and healty.

Translation: If you are a Paladin, here is your quest. If you are a cleric, keep the Paladins healthy so they can complete this quest.

Learned this the hard way in Erudin with my Pally who keeps trying to do Cleric quests.

Ok, so she's not the brightest bulb in the pack, but she's honorable and cute! heh

Clerics can do this quest fine.

The Sentry is a rareish sight since she keeps killing herself. She sits on a rock at the edge of the undead island which is diagonally across from the Sister isle where the boat stops.

Would a cleric get faction/exp? And at what level? I have a 26 cleric and would try it but don't want to waste my time for a Paladin only weapon. Now for my Pally ... I'm going to try it.

Thanks for any info.

No kidding! I finally tracked her with my bard and was ready to bring in my cleric when she did a kamikaze run at the spectres. :P If she's held on for five minutes I'd haven given her the potion, silly woman... Definitely coming back later, though. My cleric's only 12, don't want to risk too much.

Best time to do this for a Paladin is pre-10. You risk nothing if you die and have a decent chance of grabbing the harpoon before the spectres give you a free ride home.

By the time you can fight them the weapon isn't really worth it.
