Thank you, last two posters, for bringing this away from becoming yet another ****** necro argument thread. Seems that whenever necros are brought up in ANY thread, that seems to be what happens.

Hmm I would think that a chanter and mage combo would rule. Haste, slow , Crowd, control, clarity from the chanter and pet tank, pet heals, pet haste, nukes from the mage would make a rather nasty combo. The down side is no heals and no rez. but if the chanter is played well this might not be a problem. Anyways thats my 2cp worth.

I think a Druid/pally combo would be good, Druids can DoT, Heal, cast SoW, Port, invis, slow and cast damage shields.

How many aa's/lvl's do i need to get to get this elusive druid slow?

On the original subject:

When I started, I also started with a friend. He had a higher level which made it easy for me and BORING for him. I like most went through various toons cause the feel and fit was not right. I settled into the Necromancer and he started completely over as a SK. Good combo in the early stages but then he to did not have the feel and fit so we ended up around 20 as a Necro and Cleric but at 20 you progress to LDON so the duo does not become as important as the group.

Find what you enjoy!!! With POK you can both start at opposite ends and come together at level one etc. As for the Wood Elf City no one is ever there try a different city. After people progress from newbie zones most only return home for necessities. POK on Rollas Zek is the gathering place for everyone I will assume it may be the same on other servers.

Unless your willing to die a lot to player killers up till about level 30 and higher economic market then do not pick Rallos Zek. Mind you I would not change but boy getting past those levels are frustrating. It gets easier after that. Had I not had a friend very familiar with RZ I would of never lasted.

Now to the secondary topic LOL *Necromancer's*

I think a lot of people don't realize the damage a Necro does in a group because it is over time!!!! In a group I can dish out a lot of damage and keep myself healed much more efficient than any other class. I am not a tank in an agro situation but I assist more than most realized. My necro substitutes for an enchanter in groups when adds come on using ST. My pet can tank an add to keep it off the group. I can twich the cleric, I can even heal in an emergency to save a life all the while never losing steam. Where a Nec gets in trouble is when the full agro is on them and they can't cast and the pet is occupied but then if your efficient with FD most often you life. I have seen tanks die, and people run to zone while I FD and watch it all unwrap and talk to everyone in chat. So a Necro in the high levels become a hidden asset that many oversee in my opinion. But I am partial since I play one.

Play what makes you happy or you will continually start over.

My son and I play a cleric/warrior combo. We hardly ever have trouble getting groups, alone or together. Norrath always needs tank and healers and preferably as a package deal! Very good to adventure as a pair. Clerics have pacy/root/atone for very basic pulling and crowd control...enough for two people. And then can keep the heals up for the warrior. The warrior can deal and take plenty of damage, especially with the heals pouring in.

As for the server...well, we play on Erollisi Marr. It has a good sized population, but not too crowded. I have to admit though, things have changed since you played last. Some of the ols palces are deserted. Kind of eerie going into the Freeport bank and finding it empty. That is only because the game demographics and zones have evolved. Head to the POK and you will find more than enough people. The new LDON Wayfarers camps also seem to be hubs of activity.
