From what I understand, you can for an obviously reduced price. What you get is a bag of platinum that I believe you sell back to get the actual money. Could be wrong though, never done it.
That is correct. I sold my horse for bag of platinums at a reduced rate, I can't remember exactly but my 9.9kpp horse got me back about 6.5kpp iirc. Then you can sell the bag for cash. I upgraded to a Drogmar.

If you're interested in selling back your mount for any reason, just hand the bridle back to one of the NPCs in the Stables. You don't use the trader interface, just hand it to them. If it's the wrong person, they'll hand it back to you. As said above, you'll get back a "bag of platinum". This you sell back the same way you buy and sell items to merchants. CHA buffs are always recommended. You usually lose about 1/3 of the money you paid for the mount.

im thinking of scrapping my droggy, im serisously regretting buying it, its good for showing off on, but thats not worth 9k, so after about a year, we must part ways and be swapped for plat

Think it over is all I'm saying.....i see your point kerik, if i grouped outdoors a lot then it would be worth it, but im nearly always either in adventures or solo kiting. its not a heat of the moment thing, i have thought about it, and the one time i actually rode the thing was PLing in SK and looking cool outside the PoK bank, i think id prefer the 6k than that
