Pegasus Feather Cloak price checkFollow

#1 Mar 25 2004 at 1:19 PM Rating: Decent
Many, Many moons ago, I was in the Southern Plains of Karana, and I happen to see Quillmane. Well, I didn't know about the Pegasus Feather cloak being part of the Magican Epic quest, and besides, I didn't even know any high level magicans. So, I went after the beastie. I kill it, lo and behold, there was the cloak. I looted it, played with it for a bit, and finally put it into my bank. I don't need it as I'm a druid and can cast levitate if I need it.

I have just found out I could MQ the cloak for a magican, so my question is how much can I get for the cloak. I want to be reasonable about it, but I also would like to get a good price for it.

Also, I need to make clear in my mind exactly what is MQ'ing. This is my understanding. If a quest has more than one item, let's say two items which are both no drop, and two players have one of each of the items, one player turns in his item, then the other player turns in their item and the second player gets the quest item. Is this a correct senerio?

From my understanding, yes...whoever turns in the last questable item recieves the reward.

And of course...God forbid you actually help someone for the sake of the game and having an item you don't need or much less want, as you stated...but that's just me.

Have to admit that that thought flashed across my mind as well.

Maybe you have an abundance of friends, but that would be one way to get some poor Mage to love you dearly for the rest of his/her life.

I agree it would be a good choise on your part if you gave it to a mage and not sell it but be smart about it don't just give it to any mage that will slam the door in your face after your kindness you killed for the item so if you do decide to give it to someone whitch IMO would be the right thing to do give it to a guildie or somone that you fight with or someone that deserves it. Make someone happy just out of the blue. I'm a dru also and I had to pay 5k for the Reaver that is dropable witch BLEW me away becuase there was no way I could get the item on my own and at the time I wasn't in a guild that could do it. So if someone did this for me I have no idea how I would repay that person acept plege my loyalty. Have you ever seen the movie "Pay It Forward" I love that moto. Just my Smiley: twocents I hope you make the right choise...

Obviuosly it has been sitting in your bank doing nothing until you read a recent thread on the forum here.

And greed has enveloped your brain like a stingiing swarm. Although no one would fault you for making a little pp off of it.

7k seems a little excessive, to any but maybe a level 65 who has accumulated plenty of pp and no Epic.

/sigh...

Going price on Saryrn is 5k-10k. That's pretty reasonable considering the time sink mages put in to get it themselves compared to how long it would take a level 55+ mage to make that kind of money.

What a lot of people do is barter for other epic drops. For you it might be a jade reaver for the cloak or something along those lines.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I will consider my opinions further. But, I would like to clarify some things. Yes, the cloak has sat in my bank for a while, but it wasn't until recently did I even know of the MQ option. I just thought it was an item I had collected but would never use or rarely use. Now for those who say, I should "donate" the cloak to a magican, that's all fine and great, but I'm a poor druid who never has more than a couple 1000 plat in my bank. I have to buy all of my spells and equipment and I'm always low on money. Damn right, when I found out I could MQ the cloak for plat, I saw coins in front of my eyes. I never had anyone offer me nor my friends a 5K-10K plat item out of generousity. Nor do I have any magician friends high enough or even considering going after the epic. And, I don't belong to a guild, so I can't give it to a guildie. But, like I said at the start of this post, I will consider my opinions further. Maybe I will find someone worthy of the cloak, maybe I create my own magican and use the cloak on him, maybe I will sell it. I don't know, yet.

We sell Jade Reavers to them, they MQ Pegasus cloaks for us. Works perfectly. ;)

All joking aside... Why should it matter that they wish to sell it or not? :) They acquired the item and they have rights to do what they please with it - whether it be selling it or giving it away. No need to guilt trip 'em cause they need the extra cash for spells or their OWN equipment... :D

Unless they are on the Terris Thule server, of course. If they are on TT, feel free to guilt trip them into giving the cloak MQ to my magician. ;)

LMAO @ yeahwhatever

Not trying to guilt-trip the person in giving it away. While I don't play casters, I do understand that spell costs increase with level. Never said he HAD to give it away, then again didn't know if he was one of those people that had more plat then he knew what to do with. . .

If he needs the money for spells, then more power to him...sell it to the highest bidder. Buy your spells and maybe get some good equipment. Just have fun, ya know?
