You mean levitate, of course, but yes, for some reason people see the Pegasus Feather Cloak as some grand prize.

Keep at it. Let your friends know you are serious about getting your epic and ask them to just be on the lookout for Quillmane whenever they're in SK. Don't expect a stranger to MQ the cloak for you for free, but your friends probably will.

Don't give up. I'm the same level as you and have 2 drops left on mine. The staff from Hate (increased the drop rate my a$$) and Phinny. My determination to complete this quest has nothing to do with the quality of the epic item or epic pet anymore. It's simply a goal I'm determined to attain.

Problem is that cloak is VERY valuable to a non caster and some casters alike.

Being able to self-lev for a Warrior is a huge plus for traveling...Blame SoE for making such a nice item as part of your epic.

I'm a BL and I have one just because I no longer have to buy those stupid bat wings!

Yanari and Lady Joniee

The epic pet is still very nice. In several situations it will outdamage all my other pets.

I do feel your pain about getting the cloak though. For one week I had between 1 and 3 trackers in South Karana with me. We were slaughtering everything that moved. Quill spawned something like 5 or 6 times while we were there, never got a cloak. Fortunately a friend MQ'd the cloak for me at a later date.

Thankyou's , i got Phini and he was a peice of cake compared to trying to get Quillmane lol..I had planned on going to try soon as this patch was over, but like alot of people *sigh* getting the new drivers to work has been a few hour job..
Well I'm off hoping to get him now, Smiley: smile
and then only a 3 peices to go if I do..
I'll post how I go...have a good day!

Not sure if this will help you, but when I finally got the cloak I just parked my mage south of Paw - at the spires but in the open area before the trees - with a pet up, and killed everything that pathed over Paw from either direction. If it moved toward Paw it died, except for Sentry Alechin, who would have kicked her ***.

I kept the south spire clear as well, mainly to farm whips for pet weapons.

Quillmane spawned right in front of her, at the tree line to the south.

Good luck with this frustrating quest.

Evertime I've seen Quillmane in that zone, he's been flying from the hills between the birdhouse and the spires and heading north just past the spire camps. Ok. So that's only been like twice, but there ya go...

I'm curious how you are having so much trouble with this. Yes, it's time consuming, but I assume that you're somewhere around 50ish level if you're working on your epic this seriously. I can't imagine that anyone higher then 30ish is actually going to be in that zone for any reason other then Quill. I'm just surprised that you're having problems with other people grabbing the spawn and killing it before you can.

Just sit in the area Sam mentions and kill everything that paths through there. Eventually, Quill will spawn, and you will get the kill.

You're joking, right? Magicians' difficulty in getting this drop is well known.

You might want to visit the Quillmane page. Quillmane

So that's the trick? Just go out there and kill it?

Quillmane has neither a set spawn point, time, nor pattern. There are many rumors, but no facts. And as you said,

. You're right, and they're pretty ruthless about getting to him first or yanking him from us.

Must just be a lot of A-holes on Terris Thule then. Yeah. I've heard lots of mages complain about it, but mostly due to the long spawn time, not folks running over and KSing them.

I just find it hard to believe that some higher level druid/whatever (gotta be to outdamage a mage working on his epic) is hanging out in SK for hours and hours and hours just on the off chance that Quill will spawn so he cant gank the spawn. Maybe folks that have no life do that. While I don't run through SK that often, the last dozen times I have gone through there, I have *never* seen anyone but a handful of low levels (and usually not even them) in the zone. Maybe this is a hotly contested spawn on TT, but from what I've seen a mage should be able to sit in the darn zone and have it all to himself until it spawns. The only person likely to compete with him would be another mage (there's just no way that the time required for this justifies camping it for itself). Now, if that mage brought a handful of friends willing to spend their time camping it as well, and that's what helps them get the spawn, then that's still fair. You could bring a few friends and have them be willing to sit in an otherwise useless zone for 12+ hours at a time too.

Same issue on Xev, there is always a Ranger or Druid hanging out in SK watching for quill. It is a very hotly contested MQ because its seen as an almost even trade for the Jade Reaver which is a much higher level camp. With the speed that a druid can track and nuke quill the poor mage is lucky if they ever even know he was up.

Lord Xythex is correct. Trackers can simply get to him faster. And for whatever reason, they're convinced that magicians are sitting in CoM farming jade reavers so they're justified in farming Quillmane's cloak. I can't speak to that because the only times I've been in CoM was to help people get their epic drops (like the jade reaver).

I now have the cloak. It took me at least 3 Quillmane kills to do it which probably isn't so bad. Considering the time I spent in SK waiting for that spawn, killing everything in the zone, it was a bit painful. Of course the couple times I talked friends (including tracker buddies) Quillmane got all shy and refused to make an appearance.

Believe it. I saw Quillmane many times and was only able to kill him 3. If a druid or ranger and a mage see Quillmane at the same moment, they will get to him first (a ranger's arrows are a lot faster than my spells or pet.) Even when I've been in the zone first /ooc-ing that I was going after Quillmane for my epic, it made no difference.

To be fair, I've also had a total stranger keep Quillmane rooted for me until I could get to him, and it was my druid friend who told me when the Fabled Quillmane was up and ran him around the zone until I got there. And by the way, a troll was trying to KS it off the druid when I arrived.

I refuse to have KS fights with people. It's just an ugly way to spend my gaming time. I made an exception in this case.

I killed Quillmane three times as well, two leggings and the cloak. Innoruuk must be a relatively civilized server, though, as I never had it contested in any way. On one occasion when I arrived and saw another mage camping him, I left.

Hey again,
Well it does seem really only the mages know how difficult it is to aquire the cloak, I have been camping it since the early lvl 40's and come to the realization BB druids and rangers are famn nasty..I posted this first 6 - 7 days ago and still no cloak, but plenty of ranjas and druids in zone up to lvl 65. A ranja noticed me tonight and told me to be on as soon as the patch is over and he will help me get my cloak (due to fabled this will be a fight for the fittest atm tho) i sent an ooc...Please can I loot the normal Quillmane cloak and if i do get to kill quillmane one of you can have the fabled..i got no answer and still no luck! well last week I was with some guild friends and one other guild and we got a run of reavers killed 160 in a row..this took almost 2 hours straight ( felt never ending) I did not get one of the 10 Jade reavers looted its just how I am...If i have enough decorum to do this then why would they think that its justified to take the quillmane cloak?
now i'm down to PoH and PoA and Quillmane, and im starting to feel like MQ (not my idea of earning my epic being a virgo woman) is the only way that I will get it! thankyou to all you who like to profit off a friendly mage that has never asked a platnum peice for anything I have ever cast you...
Your making me feel like getting mage raids together to drain those reavers and if I do ...you only have yourselves to blame ,,,,,,,btw this to all non mage looters of the cloak MQ for profit only
