Here is a fairly easy quest that a necromancer can do alone pretty much any time after level 25 and anytime before that if you can get someone higher level to help with the mobs. The quest is for the Harvester which is a nice item that can be equipped in either melee slot. The Harvester’s stats are AC: +4, STR: +5, CHA: -5 with the constant effect of Deadeye when equipped. Here’s what you do to get it.

The Quest Begins…
The quest begins in the Temple of Solusek Ro which is a zone in Lavastorm Mountains but we are not going to start here. One of the nice things about this quest is that you can get all of the items you need before ever going to talk to the quest giver. What you need to get is a Shadowed Scythe, a Fungus Eye, a Shadowed Knife, and a Fire Opal. The first thing we are going to get is a Fungus Eye. These can be found on Mortuary Fungus in the Estate of Unrest, but before you head there bind yourself in the Plane of Knowledge. This will make your travel from zone to zone easier. If you don’t have Planes of Power then I suggest reading through the whole guide first and figure out the shortest routes between each zone. Once bound in PoK head to the bank and get out 550 gold pieces, you will need them later. Now head to the Estate of Unrest.

The Estate of Unrest
This is kind of tricky because you have to go past all of the undead mobs upstairs and down into the basement past normal mobs to get to the pits where the fungus are. Follow the path on the map below. If you are high enough level you and your pet can fight your way to the pit but it is dangerous. Best if you are in a decent group.

If you can make use of your Invisibility to Undead and Gather Shadows to get past most of the mobs then do so. Once you have the item gate back to your bind spot.

Ocean of Tears
Ocean of Tears is where you’ll find the next item, the Shadowed Knife. You need to kill the Goblin Headmaster who is on an island at location -1203, -8567. The easiest way to get to the island in my opinion is to head to Freeport via the portal in PoK and get over to the docks and wait for the boat. Follow the maps below to get to East Freeport from where you show up in West Freeport.

If you take the boat then make sure you get off when it stops at the Island of the Sisters of Erollisi. However they will attack you if they see you so you might want to jump ship and swim to the island you are looking for. If the boat is not running then use the little Translocator guy to translocate you to Ocean of Tears. And don’t worry, he will drop you on the Isle of the Sisters but far enough away from them that they will not agro you. Now, make sure you have Dead Man Floating up (if you don’t have DMF yet then you get to practice your swimmingJ) and then run across the water towards the island that has the Oracle and his assistant on it. If you head to the coordinates above you will go right to the Headmaster. Below is a picture of the Headmaster in front of his tent.

Sometimes there is a placeholder there so just keep killing him until the Headmaster spawns. You will know when he is going to drop the knife because he will be holding it when he pops. Once you have the knife then gate back to PoK.

The Shadowed Men
With the Fungus Eye and the Shadowed Knife in hand you can head to one of the 6 Shadowed Man camps to get the Shadowed Scythe. I don’t think it matters which one you go to so I will just list all 6 and let you choose the one you want. I recommend one that is close to Temple of Solusek Ro like the one in Lavastorm just because it puts you that much closer once you get the scythe.

When you finally get the Shadowed Scythe you will have to finish the quest before logging off because the Scythe is No Rent and will disappear when you log.

Now head to the Temple of Solusek Ro to get the fire opal and claim your prize!

Once inside speak to Genni. She is marked on the map below in red.

When you get to her hail her and she will say, “I am Genni of the temple of Solusek Ro. I serve as custodian of the ”. You say “What lambent stones?” She will give you a spill about several stones but the only one you care about at the moment is the Fire Opal so say, “What about the fire opal?” She will tell you that she will sell you a fire opal. So say to her, “Sell me a fire opal.” And she will tell you to give her 550 golden coins.

Give her the 550 gp and she will give you the Fire Opal. Now you can find Vurgo. He is also marked on the map above in blue. When you find him hail him and he will say, “Welcome! I am Vurgo, follower of Solusek Ro and holder of the .” Since we only care about the harvester at this point say, “What about the harvester?” He will tell you that he can forge you one if you bring him the right components. Ask him “What scythe components?”

He will tell you that the first thing he needs is a shadowed scythe so give him the scythe now.

He will give you a note and tell you that the other 3 components he needs are the fungus eye, a shadowed knife, and a fire opal. You are to turn these 3 things in along with the note he gave you and he will forge you the harvester. Turn in the fungus eye, the shadowed knife, the fire opal, and the note now.

Congratulations! You know are the proud owner of one shiny Harvester! Now don’t you look dangerous?!
