Fabled Creatures, Weapons, Etc.Follow

Hey guys I havent played EQ for about a week before the 18th. I got on, did the patch and the news thing talked about the Anniversary of EQ. Ever sinse then i have been trying to get these 'Fabled Weapons' from these 'Fabled Creatures' the entire time I am logged on. I know which ones I want to get, and being a Newbie (lvl 22 Rogue) I want the Fabled Screaming Mace off of Fabled Emperor Crush in CB. I have solo'd him about 5-10 times and gotten nothing but experience and a few Dwarven Ringmail Tunics which I gave to the people grouping in the TR. But to get to the point, I can't find one! When does this 'fabled' thing end? I really just want to be able to say (and prove), "I was here for EQ's 5th B-day", or something like that. Oh yeah, if anyone makes me type that f-word again, I'll....

The FABLED mobs will actually say "Fabled" as part of their name. They are major undercons. I did Fabled Ishva For its Robe. A Dark blue con to a 46. IT had atleast 100k hp. We had a raid group there 24/7. Plus they have PH so you my not see the fabled for hours. GL on that Mace. Stick to it and you will enjoy the rewards.

yes, i know it it says 'f-word' in front of their name (not intended to sound rude, please dont take it that way), but how long will the celebration last? weeks? days? that was my main question, sorry if I mislead you.

Really? April 15? That's far beyond the "couple weeks" they said a week ago.

There's a scheduled patch for the night of 3/24-3/25. I assumed that would set the zones back.

They had actually said a "few weeks". Still pretty unclear exactly what that means.

I assume the NPCs who give our the quest for the fireworks wand will vanish at the end of the festivities.

People are starting rumors all over the place about the anniversary celebration and the rewards. Continue to be skeptical at the declarations people are making.

I reallllyy can't see them nerfing all the fabled drops. That would be a HUGE F-you to everyone who has waited in line for a mob or made numerous corpse runs into a newbie zone at night /raise. I would imagine if they were going to pseudo-nerf something it would have gone the way of the no rent Big Soul Destroyer. That way there's no hard feelings since you already know whatever you picked up is gone when you log. I'll be curious to see how this turns out though...

nope they will stop the fabled mobs spawning once the celebration ends and yes it will be a big FU to all the ppl who waited in lines for items, but unlucky. life goes on, better get over it.

Got to say that I spent around 6 hours to get the Fabled Ishva robe and 20 hours to get the fabled jboots. If they either take out or nerf the Fabled items after this I will be very disapointed for having spent so much time to aquire them knowing that I wouldn't be able to get them for very long. On the otherhand I feel really sorry for the people who will camping for these items and come up just short time wise. I know I felt really relieved. Especially after almost a day with no sleep finally getting the fabled jboots.

Yeah I understand that, i think the rumour is that they will nerf the drops themselves i.e. they will poof after the 15th from your inventory or turn into non-fabled items. I'm sure that's not true, but if it was, that would be quite harsh.

Yeah it is really bad for people that had to wait forever. I,however; was extremely lucky. Friend said wanna join me in CB to camp the fabled Me: sure sounds like fun. The moment i get there fabled Crush spawns he may have beat my friend but we got him down to just enough that my mage ran up and hit him with my knife to send him into running where i chased him punching then finally blasting him for teh mace =)

I don't think they'll switch the fabled items to non fabled after the celebration. If they were going to do that then there would be no reason to make them no drop. As for the rumor about them going poof...who knowsSmiley: smile

I personally am sick to friggin death of these guys. Us people who cant get someone above lvl 30 have these lvl 65's invading the noob zones for the fabled items and they often kick the **** out of any orc or ghoul who gets in the way, leaving us with jack to kill around the zone.

The only thing I could say to that is there are a very limited number of zones with fabled mobs. Try heading to a new zone where there aren't any fabled mobs spawning(the fabled spawn only in old world zones, so any expansion zone would do, ie. Kunark, Luclin, Velious, Ykesha).

I am just curious what they will have changed when I log back on tonight... Faibleds gone? or new/different Faibleds mobs? Skellies gone? only scavenger hunt left?

we'll see... Smiley: smile

While there is some of that going on in the newbie zones, I've found that the higher level people are MORE than helpful to us mid to lower levels. I've yet to go into a zone were there aren't constant shouts of someting rotting, and I even watched a level 65 escort a level 4 to a rotting item (and yes I'm sure it wasn't a 2 boxer). The only thing I'd say is just enjoy the crazyness for a couple of weeks, because after that it's back to the same old boring newbie zones.
It makes me wonder though if there will be an influx of people infiltrating Kitchicor at night after this is done...

they will stop the fabled mobs spawning, they wont nerf their drops. the fabled stuff just wont drop anymore - ie the ppl who have them now will be the ppl who keep em and noone else will be able to get em.

Just for the curiosity factor, that would be pretty interesting if it happened. My paladin has both a fabled and regular ghoulbane(regular ghoulbanes are lore) in his inventory.

Too bad paladins can't dual wield, would make for one heck of a light show against undead!Smiley: waycool

In case yall haven't noticed, some of the Fabled stuff is already getting nerfed.

The JBoots were the first one. When from targetable SoW, to self-only (can't remember the name of the spell, but it's nothing near SoW).

This is probably going to be the first of many. Which is why I'm not wasting my time on them. The camps are utterly rediculous, and the reward really isn't worth it. I have better things to do with my limited time.
