Actually, IIRC, there was some debate about the difference between V1 and V2 spells. I'd need to check the lucy site to be sure, but there's also a difference between spells that can be cast only on your own group and spells that can be cast on other groups (useing /tgb). Back when this topic came up last, I recommended that someone check for those differences, but didn't see an answer.
Ok. A quick look seems to have confirmed my suspicions. Looking at the pally spells we see the following:
BSA is group V2. It's a group spell that can be cast on your own, or another group, and has no level restriction.
BMB is a group V2. It's a group spell that can be cast on your own, or another group, but is restricted to level 46 or higher.
Both in the same group. Thus indicating that V2 means that a spell can be cast on another group.
Hmmmm... Was going to look at the group heal spells for pallies, since those are all spells that are non-level restricted (at least I've never noticed one), but are definately your group only. Oddly, some of those are listed as V1 and some as v2. There's no sense to them as far as I can tell. Now, I'm starting to wonder if there's some error here somewhere either in the data, or how it was presented on this site.
I still think the v1 v2 thing has to do with targeting and not level restriction. If it were level restriction, then why not have a v1 and v2 for single target spells that are restricted? Cel Heal is a "buff" (annoyingly). I know for a fact that it wont stick on lower level folks. But there's no data point indicating this.
Hmmm... I'll have to look at some more spells. Hold on.
