Does anyone have any information about the Treant Fist quest? I went and got the pawprint box, was able to find the cat skull and femur in Runnyeye, got the ribcage from Alchemist number 1 in Misty Thicket...but there are no longer placeholders in Gorge of King Xorbb for Alchemist number 2.
Has anyone seem him spawn in the Gorge in another spot? Has anyone found the Humerus Handled Mace in Runnyeye itself?
I cleared out every Goblin, but only found the same documented items...
I just want to do this quest for the glory, but have no idea if this spawn even exists. It surely doesn't spawn in front of the Runnyeye gate on 7th Hammer :(

It does spawn, its been over three years since I did the quest with my monk, but as I recall, there is a rock you sit on just outside runnyeye in the gorge, there are three spawn points in front of that V wall there. Two spawns are regularly replaced spawns, the 3rd is a rare spawn completely separate from the other two. When I did mine I would just check the area when I could start/stop for the day, and one day he was up, as were the other two goblins. You just need to have the patience of someone trying to wait out the spawns for the VP key I think.

I also did the quest a couple years ago, before a supposed revamp of the pathing in the Gorge (can't officially confirm that). And I remember the 3 spawn points, right outside of Runnyeye - but the problem now, is that only the left spawn pops (near the rock on the left as you come out of RE), but the other 2 spawns do not pop. Not even a trace.
I sat on the famous rock and camped 5 days straight while I was home sick from work. Not one placeholder has spawned ever. Just the goblin or muddite on the left...

I tried killing any muddites, and leaving a goblin at the spawn...the only anomoly I noticed was a gob sentry, that started heading toward me from the right-hand fork, from where the other gob spawn point is. If I remember correctly, that is the path that gobs followed before the revamp...

I refuse to give up, I just wanted to confirm that the spawn still exists!

going on 12 days of camping this mob...no placeholders, no nothing. I can't get confirmation that the mace even exists anymore...

I did log in to a few different servers, and the spawns are the same. I think this quest has changed somehow.

Any info would be appreciated!

I think this is a dead quest - EQ tech support can't verify that the alchemist spawns anymore. GMs just laugh and say "good luck". And no other player I find in the Gorge has seen the spawn lately.

16 days with no sign of the alchemist - don't waste your time doing this quest :(

Way Back I had a monk level 40 that was one of the few begining monks on Tunare. This was basically before monks had any weapons to choose from. I almost quit Eq after camping this zone for 10 days and receiving endless ******* from the newbies trying also to kill the goblin warriors there in front of Runny Eye.. As far as I am concerned this is OLDE Eq as Envisioned by the then Prez.

The fists are crap compaired to what you can get almost anywhere today. They sound cool they dont look that good.

I would love to see some newer quests for monks that yeilds great damage dealing fist weapons..

Yeah, I did this quest when the spawns were still as described in all the guides you find about it. I remember it took a long time, but I did get the alchemist a few times...he just didn't have the mace.
They definitely need some nice martial weapon quests! I aint gonna waste any more time in the Gorge...

UPDATE

Very odd...I had emailed the EQ support team about this spawn, and was eventually given the standard upbeat form letter with no pertinent info (as usual)...but magically...

Just last night, I had to cut through the Gorge, and stopped at the famous rock to get my equipment situated...BAM, a goblin lookout spawns right where it is supposed to now (on the right side of the left path). I stopped what I was doing, killed the lookout, and started my timer. The goblin spawns on a 6 minute timer like the rest. After killing 5 rounds of this spawn, a lookout spawned in almost the same spot after about 90 seconds. I killed him, and set my timer again (the regular 6-minute spawn continued).
After 72 minutes, another lookout popped that was out of the normal 6-minute spawn cycle.

I did not have time to wait another 72 minutes, but I remember that it worked this way before. You have to keep killing the 72 minute spawn until you get the alchemist...

I am going to confirm this, if nothing else, just to have the Treant Fists in my trophy bag.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE
When I went back to the Gorge to continue my research, I discovered that the spawns on the right side of the path don't pop again...this zone is jacked up...
Oh well - I guess I will wait for another patch, and jump online right when it finishes. It worked last time...
