Hi All,

Thanks very much for previous help, I'm getting there slowly. I've a couple more questions, if I may:

1. I believe the only ranged weapons I can use are thrown ones, but I can't find any anywhere. Can anyone suggest what I can use and where I can get them? (Thanks to he who said snowballs last night, lol)

2. I get lots of "Spell Fizzles". How can I improve my spell casting? Should I put skill points into "alteration" etc and if I do will I then improve by casting?

3. I'm favouring "Hand to Hand" weapons, can I use two at a time and ditch the shield? I've heard of dual wield but is that something I can take advantage of? If so how?

4. I've also heard a lot about the Bazaar. Could it be a good place to get those ranged weapons I'm looking for? Where is it, how do I get there and is it feasible for a level 10 halfwit newbie?

Thanks very much for any advice offered. It seems the more I play the more I want to play. Marvellous.

Cheers,

Lance.

DOH!

Does it matter when you make people laugh if it's unintentional?

Thanks mwhenry, you could have pretended you didn't notice.

1- buy them in your home town usually, but you must put training points in to "throwing

2- there are 5 casting skills, alteration, evocation, divination, abjuration and conjuration, these can be trained by training points or repeatedly casting certain spells, to find out which type of spell a spell is, hold down right click.

3- yes you can use dual weild as a beastlord from level 1, all you have to do is find a weapon that says SECONDARY on it and you can hold 2 weapons great!

4- the bazaar is not exactly too usefull unless you have a lot oh plat to spend, although if you save there is possibility you can buy some nice stuff, to get there you get to the nexus via a spire or PoK (if you have PoP)and head south through nexus

Throwing daggers and Shurikens are the two most common types of thrown weapons. You can usually find shurikens at a monk guild general supply vendor.

Magicians can also summon throwing daggers and shurikens.

To reduce your fizzle rate make sure you've got your skill in that spell class at maximum. Find a low mana spell of that type and just cast it repeatedly until your skill is max for your level. It's boring, but if you're not casting the spells often enough to keep them maxxed, this is your easiest option.

I would strongly advise against spending training points on your casting skills. I think you'd be better off in the long run saving those points for your various fighting skills.

Regarding weapons: Many beastlords will put a hand to hand weapon in one hand, and a 1hb or piercer in the other hand. That way you're raising two fighting skills at the same time.

Howdy,

I hijacked my wifes account looking for quest info and decided to stop on by here. So i Figured i would answer your qeustions.

1. yes throwing is yoru only ranged attack except for spells. There are throwing daggers in the rogue guild(shuriken have faster delay) to raise this skill , depending on level get a sow and go to field of bone and pick the scorpians, they run slower than sow. just run backwards and throw at them making a big loop.

2. ahhh spell fizzles get used to them. But other posts are correct. Get clarity and go to pok meme fastest casting/cheapest man spell you can get. and cast and cast and cast lol I have spent 4+ hours doing this. its a good idea.

3.dual wield for beast is level 17 I believe. once you train in it., simply put a weapon in each hand and it auto happens and the more you do it the better it goes up. Here is a little trick to help with dual wielding, I always equip 2 of the same weapon for the simple fact that its faster to get skill raises for a weapon if you are using 2 of them. I normally put my fastest weapon in primary to raise the weapon skill since your primary hand swings more often. and rotate them around , if after all my 1 hand weapons are maxxed out and dual wield is still behind then i put fastest delay weapon in offhand and that will quickly max out . DO NOT FORGET to train 2hb after 28 you start getting damage bonus applied to a weapons base damage, the higher the delay and level the more damage bonus is applied. so come 50'ish maybe sooner depending on weapon hardly any of your 1hand combo will do more damage than a good 2hander. Even warriors who get both dual wield and double attack will use a 2hander alot of the time in the post 50 era.

4.The bazaar is the central trading area for players, you are amerchant, set yoru prices and go afk and sell stuff while you sleep. Good way to get gear. best bet for shuriken and throwing knives is to just buy them in city.

When I was a newbie Beatlord ( around 12 or 13) my family doctor gave me a pamphlet to read. I was acting normal! So go have fun, you have years of enjoyment ahead of you!
