Sunday: Mithaniel Marr tasted the full fury of the "Forgotten Nemesis" blades. For this second attempt we returned with a full raid force and he was killed flawlessly.

I can now zone into Sol Ro!

Friday - After an EQ-free week I was fired up enough to finally get my Beastlord to 39 and try out that new pet. Awesome fun, but Gunthak Beach is now pretty slow for EXP so took him into Nadox with my son’s 56 Druid. Soaked up a little exp but couldn’t really contribute that well. Ported him over to DSP to check out.

Saturday - 2-Boxed the Beastlord with my 63 Druid to decent effect in DSP. A bit low for the Rockhoppers, and a bit high for the Tribal Gatherers but happily picked off Large Zelniaks for an hour before shopping called. PL’d my other son’s Mage for a while and settled down to an evening of mindless crap TV.

Sunday – Chores all morning and most of the afternoon, then a bit more Beastlord grinding in DSP. PL’d my 16 Necro and my son’s 14 Rogue in PC to remind myself why that zone is so annoying Smiley: wink Rounded off the night with my Druid and some very good friends in Nadox to top up the AA’s.
A very satisfying weekend

Monday – RL Employer Faction quest. Despite my tireless repetitions of the ‘lending him my secretary’ quest he still cons indifferent.

Annoying Boss says “What did you want to [talk] to me [about]”
You say “I want to talk about that pay rise”
Annoying Boss says “I’m not sure you’ve done enough [work] for me to consider a pay rise”
You say “What work?”
Annoying Boss says “My point exactly”
Smiley: banghead

TS/trading and soloing where fine but Saturday I had 2nd terrible LDoN group so far:

- 1 very well played 24 Wiz as leader (last of the goods news here)
- 2 equally lousy 21/22 Rangers who could not agree over who a) is the main tank and b) real group leader
- 1 25 Rogue who's BS must have been under 25% regarding the hit msgs in the chat window
- 1 22 cleric who should have had her hubby happy take her out for lunch instead (me)

Well, only one (Ranger) had a bow but forgot to restock on arrows and taunting seemed to be an ability as underrated as bind wounds so after 5 rooms we had to resort to run-to- mob or nuke-pull.

Wiz got constant aggro of course for nuking and every time I was not able to root fast enough I had to use my mana up on her later on as our fighters tended to get ignored by mobs completely.

One of the Rangers had an early tendency to explore that must have made the Rogue feel ashamed and that resulted in an early wipe....

Needless to say I did NOsecond attempt but skilled up instead of convincing hubby to take me out for dinner ;-)

Most of the weekend was spent outside, away from computers (yeah, I know, I didn't think one could survive that long outside either!) Took the stunt kites out to play with them. An acute wind shortage for several hours limited their usefullnes, but I did get some nice flying time in.

Rescued a large color plotter from the scrap heap on impulse. It was deemed unfixable. I fixed it in about 20 minutes. It's missing a paper spindle, but other than that, I now have a working designjet 650c plotter. Am thinking about restarting my survey CAD buisiness on the side, or maybe just selling the sucker. Dunno yet.

Also aquired a few upgrades for the primary box, for when I next get online. My 400w power supply was overheating slightly, so I replaced it with an Enermax 470w fully sleaved job. Plus it's blue so it matches my case. Also found a Sound Blaster Audigy II zs platinum on sale, so it followed me home. Am not however looking forward to extracting the old audigy I drivers. By the way, if anyone is interested, I found a place online that will round and sleave that stupid 40 pin audigy ribbon cable. Should dramatically inprove airflow.

I had a good weekend. Dinged 48 and 49, and got new spells. I love those new Dot's. 149 points per tick. Woot. Killed Rockhoppers in DSP and went to The Great Divide for the first time, and whacked some FG's great fun.

Attempted Doomshade with a raid of maybe 15 people, most of whom were 50-55. CHeal rot was three or four druids. Wiped. Wiped again. Wiped some more. I think it took five tries to give up the ghost, but if you don't try, you never know Smiley: wink Plus, I got to Highsun Doomshade back after we gave up the ghost.

Did the usual dinking about on alts. I've noticed I get the best groups at like midnight Sunday which means I only get to play one LDoN before it's time to log.

A squirrel chewed a fist sized hole in my roof and decided to claim squatter's rights in my attic crawlspace. Nothing like listening to the scampering of rodent feet at 3:00am after doing that midnight LDoN Smiley: mad I blocked the hole this morning and now have to practice my Bob Villa skills at roof repair in the next day or so. Come to think of it I have no idea if I blocked the squirrel in or out of the attic, but that's its problem, not mine.

Friday I logged on Jonwin after letting him rest all of Feb. and most of Jan. Played briefly in poj two kills then had to zone to live. Not easy being the healer in a group with 2 monks and a mage. Moved Jon over to Dsp so he could buff Courtin the cleric.
Saturday went to see Sweeny Todd at the theatre, dinner with Elne Clare and a friend then a SF club meeting. Back home I logged on Courtin and grouped with some folks in DSP for a bit. Was in a train wreck 2 times in dsp and once in NL. No deaths for me but the ranger I had just rezzed was done in 2 hits.

Sunday Dsp again hunting the tribals. Nice full group,no deaths, and ding 38. Last 4 fights were cleric enchanter and 2 wizards. The mobs lasted about 1 min each. Even I got a chance to nuke.

Not much in the way of EQ this weekend.

Friday night - Dinked around on my nec and bought her all of her spells up to level 16. Got into a BoT Group for an hour then had to log to get some sleep...

Saturday - woke up at 315am to go meet a friend over in fremont (30 minutes away) and then head up to Tahoe for a day fo snowboarding. snow was good untill about 130pm. then we decided to head home. got home round 7pm got cleaned up and took the lady out to a nice dinner. got home round 93o. watched some TV then went to bed

Sunday - day was spent in trader mode while washed and detailed our cars, went to circut city to replace our TV again. the first one had to be taken back because of a loud highpitched buzzing sound so we got a replacement. the second one has to be returned because of the same sound and the screen isnt level. it slopes to the left abit. we said "***** panasonic" and wanted to get another brand but none would fit in the entertainment center. so we had to go down to a 27 inch flatscreen by samsung. 200$ cheeper but im bummed that i loose my 32" flatscreen. kept trying to convince the woman that we need to get rid of the entertainment center and get a bigger TV. (they had 42" widescreen HD TVs for 1500$ but she put the nix on that. oh well ill live. come home with some KFC for dinner and find i made a whopping 1k in the baz. i guess its time to clean out my crap and find a nice place to pharm sellables....

sunday grinded nadox for next to nothing XP, but over what seemed like weeks, gained a WHOLE 22% AA!! woot!

The Silmarillion depressed me the first time i read it so it did make only 1/2 of a second time.

BTW: I usually find the RL coverage of your weekends as interesting as the EQ related stuff :))

Just wait until next weekend when I relate how I put the squirrel's head on a spike and set it in the yard as a warning to the other squirrels that Casa Jophiel is soverign territory and not to be trifled with.

Mostly dorked around this weekend. Ground some exp. Got into a really good group, and a really bad group, both in the exact same spot (but on different days). I just hate groups where the impatience of the members causes us to kill slower instead of faster (ie: unwilling to accept that mobs wont spawn faster if you run around like chickens with your heads chopped off, so they do silly stuff like duel eachother and then wonder why they can't heal you when the mobs respawn!). You'd think they'd learn the pattern of the mobs (there is one, really!). Never seems to happen though...

Made some good cash buying and selling stuff in the bazaar. That's good. I'm down to just a few spells I have left to buy, then I'm done with spells. (yeah).

I also marvelled at the stuff added to items this last week. I didn't notice at first, but when they changed the mana regen and hp regen stuff, they also added in haste percentages on items. Freaking amazing!

SOE also went back and added +END to a ton of items. For the most part, it looks like the found every item with +mana on it and gave it an equal amount of +end. Mostly. I found some items that didn't get +end that had mana, and some items that got +end that didn't. Whatever method they used, it's pretty nice I guess...

No raids at all this weekend. Just a nice slow fun time. Not bad to take a break I suppose.

Sigh - I just reached 1500 pp total for the first time ever... I'm outfitting 4 characters, AND I'm on Stromm, so it's tough to accumulate anything...

This weekend:
Friday - date with my wife - good!
Sat - EQ just bazaar action. Yardwork - burnt my back something fierce pulling weeds in the yard! Ouch!
Sun - Friend's funeral. He was over at my house last Sunday, as happy as could be. Tuesday - massive heart attack. He was 55. Smoker. Thin, not overweight. I'll miss him.
(His name was Kenny - I have this recurring dark thought running through my mind - it's this voice and it keeps saying, "Oh my God! They killed Kenny!" - I couldn't say that to any of his family...)
EQ - just some farming when I got back - found out my guild got into an impromtu raid - wiped numerous times - naked "Twelfth Order" guys running all over Luclin...

Dinged 63 late Friday/early Saturday. Got 46% into the level as of Sunday night. Got into my first BoT groups (not for lack of /ooc'ing in the past) and had a great time on the first one (Fire, took down 2 named and won an SP). After that group broke up joined a 4-way group that got trained almost instantly. Got a free rez, kept going, and got trained again. I made it out that time at least. SP turn-in failed to give me the only SP spell I still need (Spirit of Sorsha), which isn't surprising, since it's the most expensive and so must be the most rare. I keep impulse buying, so I never have enough money for it (i.e., I saw some of my 65 spells for 5k instead of the usual 10 or 15k so I HAD to buy them), so I might need to do some farming soon. I only need 1.5-3.5k more, hopefully the former so I can get back to grinding.

Guild raid was supposed to be to Plane of Fear, but another guild snuck in before us. Which ended up being a good thing, because none of the golems were up and they wiped on the new Berserker epic mob. So we went back to Chardok, where we took down the Prince for the first time (small guild, not much raid experience yet). Of course, our Enchanter LD'ed at the beginning of the raid and couldn't come back because his entire ISP went down...and our only CotH mage had also LD'ed earlier and didn't come back in time. So, it was basically for nothing. What we really want to do is take the King down for the Cleric epic.

Hoping to ding 64 before I have to leave town for a week to go to a conference...looks doable!

Game on,

The Oneiromancer

My weekend began with yet another darn patch, which messed up the gang's plans to do some HoH trialing.

No one around the next day so we went to Skyfire to try to get Aesten some of his spells. Last time we were there getting Celeni's spells we got nothing by Cleric and Enchanter spells, you guessed it, this time we are getting nothing but Druid and Enchanter Spells Smiley: frown Oh well we did get Fortitude for what its worth.

On Sunday we did a few LDoN's, with Babastina doig some jewel crafting during the waits in between. She is stuck on 196 for some reason at present, but we made a couple of stacks of champagne magnums in preparation for another earing push.

In amongst the usual insistance in doing "collects" or "slaughter" on brave leader chose an asassination and sprung it on the group before anyone could object. It proved to be very interesting.

We managed to fight through to the mob in good time, but with hind sight we did not prepare well enough for the fight, just treated it like any normal mob and piled in.

The mob was tough enough to almost need a heal rotation. I suddenly found my self desperately trying to keep the MA alive. In pretty quick time the mob was inficting enough damage to outpace my cast time, even mixing hots and ch. Eventually the MA went down, the mob then quckly despatched the Wizzy who was trying to burn it down and then turned on me. This was before my conversion to DB and so I did some sort of a tank impersonation for a few seconds and then went down as well.

Just as I popped back in Felwithe (bound in front of the tribute master Smiley: smile I got the "you are sucessful" message saying that we had won!?

It turns out that between me and the monk we managed to "tank" long enough for the rogue to finish the bastage off, lol.

Spent a lot of time this weekend getting a guest cleric through the sewer trials so he could join us in KT.

Ikkinz raid, much easier than the trials in my opinion. Got a nifty evil looking shield, looks so cool with DE illusion. :~)

Managed to level my necro to 42 and my cleric to 61. Was surprised to realize that the stat cap is automatically raised post-60; thought I had to invest AAs for that. As it is I was over 260 Wis anyways.

Also went to visit my father in the hospital; he'd had a tracheotomy but lost his speech tube so it was pretty awkward talking with him.

I've read the Silmarillion many, many times; it is rather depressing but a thrilling story.

Part way through the Silmarillion right now. I couldn't get into it the first time I tried (30 years ago) - am having an easier (yet still slow) time of it now.

The MOST interesting thing is Tolkien's letter to his editor in the foreward of the book. If you haven't read this DO SO! It's awesome!

Forgotten Nemesis used the patch to work their way to SSra, with a little applying rogue quietly following around.

Long story short: Emperor SSra dead; my biggest kill ever.

Friday: Cleric LVL 59 LFG for hours on end, enduring pick up LDONs to pass the time between looking for something fun to do. When not LDONing, turned LFG off and got skill of baking up from 0 to 242 in under 500pp and it would have been less if I hadn't been so keen on adding all those new recipes to the new tradeskill UI (OMG It's so fun now!!!)

Friend found me in need, he in his 60th hour of attempting to get the hide off of an ashenbone drake in Hate. And in need himself because his previous cleric had been a bad example of a battle cleric.

Tuesday morning, level 61 cleric, not LFG, fending off tells from everyone. :) I'm sorry you didn't get your hide sweetie but you made my weekend grand!
