Hi,
I just recently joined EQ online. This is the third morning in a row that their server has been down. Does anybody know if this much down time is typical? Thanks.

Happens after every large patch. Sony very rarely gets it right the first time and proceeds to take the next 3 or 4 days to fix the problems.
It stinks because it never fails that I need to spend quality time in the bazaar selling. Every morning I wake up to a down server and no way to tell how successful the night was.
O well. After a couple of days it is usually back to smooth sailing. You just joined at a bad time.
Go to work. Get your chores done. Read a book. Talk to your grandma. Plenty of other things to do in the downtime.

Earlier the server was listed as down, now listed as up, but you still can't get on. Thank you SOE! I thought it was 4 days but hey....
Oh and I also appreciate the fact that after a certain number of tries to log on, my EQ goes away and I have to start all over loading.

Servers being reset means two things for me.
First, w00t epic mobs are up and assorted other mobbies that other guilds have been camping have lost their cycle. MOVE IN FOR THE THE KILL <insert my guild here>.
Second, DAMNIT. Now we have to go back to <insert Tier 2/3, Ssra, VT zone here> and regain the cycle, ie. drop all plans you had for the following day to camp <insert acclaimed npc here> and hope that the guild logs on before your enemy-type guild gets there first.
Positives and negatives for me. Hate camping, and hate being obligated to try to rush to a mob that takes full raid force to down on a good day. Never works out well in the end.

It's that my bazaar mule gets knocked off while I am sleeping that bugs me. And then I have to go off to work and I am not in the bazaar during that non-game time either.
If you want to see what your bazaar trader sold, just open the file "bzrlog_servername_charname" in the everquest directory. Every transaction you have ever made is stored here.
I agree with the bazaar thing. I always seem to need money when the server starts to go down daily. I would love to be able to find out how much money I made before I go to work so I can plan my everquest evening. Right now I am into jewelcrafting and love the fact that I can make magic stuff. However, it takes lots of plat and lots of farming and bazaar time.

Thank you! I feel much better. Misery loves company. Wish they would realize that there is more to this planet than just the West coast. (Don't get me wrong, I love the West coast.) I wonder if there isn't a way that they could stagger the 'up' time a little more fairly? Our money is as good as the next guy's.
Oh, I don't care about that, it's that every night I'm getting kicked out and from the money I'm receiving, it must be down half the night and into the morning, and thus into the afternoon before I get home from work. That means my non-play time is totally wasted, for 4 days now. And SOE of course never offers extended time or any other make-up goodies. Imagine walking into McDonalds and just giving them money, and saying no thanks, nothing this time, just keep it.

Just a suggestion, but what I do is read my Bazaar log file.

I agree that the bazaar time lost is a pain. I went home from work yesterday at lunch to log in my bazaar mule. Luckily I get off work at noon today so I won't miss too much bazaar time. Which also means I won't miss any ACC tournament games today either! Go Wolfpack!!
And Karaj, that McDonald's comment is damn funny stuff.
