Well I just got the news today that a large handful of my regular group buddies are planning a mass exodus to EQ2. Being a generally resistant pain in the butt I havent even bothered to look up EQ2 past what I've found posted on the boards...a state I'm going to have to rectify soon. I'm just wondering...how many here are planning to move over?

I'll start thinking about it when the game has a real release date. Or at least hits some sort of Beta. Or something.

Really, it's nothing I'm even seriously considering right now given that the game is still a ways off yet.

Check out http://eq2vault.ign.com for more information about EQ2 and the latest updates. I've found this to be a wonderful resource that is extremely well organized.

Like quite a few people I'll probably play both for a period of time. With so much time and resources devoted to EQ it's a shame to do a direct cutover. My guild has also officially announced that it does not have any intentions to migrate over to EQ2.

From the articles I've read EQ2 does sound quite interesting and I would be more than willing to try it. The price is a little high...the pre-order price is around $60.

I've been playing EQ for over 4 years now, and there's STILL a ton of content I haven't explored.

But I'll probably grab EQ2 as soon as its available just so I'll have the chance to get in on the ground floor before I fall irrevocably behind everyone else as I continually remake new characters.

I'll start playing EQ2 when the inevitable bugs get worked out. Which means that I have at least a couple more good years in EQ.

im planning on moving straight to eq 2 when it comes out and playing it for a while to try and get ahead in the game. im still gonna keep my eq account tho cause ive put too much into it just just drop it. however im happy to keep playing eq and not think much about eq2 until its out.

Thanks for the link Valz, so far it seems like they're cutting back on races/classes to allow you to personalize your character more...but then I havent poked around enough to make a true call...it does sound pretty interesting...I'll most likely drag my feet making my way to eq2, only giving in after the constant pestering of friends to get over there.

Well, it is like this...I play EQ now for the sheer enjoyment of it. When it becomes a drag I tend to elave it for a while and then come back refreshed. So my goal, while at a character level is to reach 65 and gain every AA I can and be the biggest uber I can possibly be with 5 titles in front of my name, is really to just have fun. I have real true fun in EQ by exploring new things and seeing and doing new things. Early days of the game, every day was new and interesting. The expansions have mde it so again, especially with LDON.

So, when EQ2 comes out, I will most certainly buy it and try it out. If it is stable and fun, I will move over to it and leave EQ behind. People are going to be heading for the new and exciting...I will too.

Now, having said that, there is no release date or planned beta test yet...and that could be a ways out. So, it is not going to stop me from doing all I can in EQ now.

I will laugh very long and hard at all of those who have spent real dollars on plat to twink up their toon only to see EQ1 fade away into nothingness while we all move on to bigger and better (hopefully) in EQ2.

I'm definately trying EQ2 if and when they release it. I'll fall back to EQ if it sucks, but with the difficulty finding groups now, i'm not sure it will be much of a possibilty to me when half THAT player base or more moves on.

I am going to try out Lineage II i think though. I wanted to try horizons but i keep hearing bad things about it. anyone tried it?

I will wait until EQ4 comes out .... I will skip EQ2 and EQ 3

For myself I will definately be going over to eq 2. From what I have read it is has my interest in it rather fully and plan to run over drooling and spinning. But when i get bored with EQ I take a break and just remember the new one is on the horizons. Played horizons but if I wanted to get involved with another time sink of a game I can just keep playing my eq account so that is why I left the game after a month.

I'm planning on playing EQ2 on launch day. (provided we don't have another SWG on our hands) I pray they made it more like EQ than SWG and if it does turn out good, I'll play both. I have All-Access so I might as well play it! I'll be a Dark Elf Cleric in EQ2 as well! That is... Unless what I heard is true, that being you can play any race / class combo you feel like. Then I might be an Iksar Cleric. Can't wait to see the Dark Elven Rangers come out of the woodwork though if it's true!
