AC-what's the calculator?Follow

Does anyone know exactly AC is calculated? I noticed that it increases at a rate that is sometimes greater than the stated modifier. Does it matter what type of armor it is? Is it related to my class or level. If there is a website that has information and tables I would love to know about it. Thanks.
