I FOUND A NEW SPOT ON MAP! NOW GET ME OUTTA THERE!Follow

#1 Mar 01 2004 at 11:17 PM Rating: Decent
I was hunting in Paludal Caverns and I was returning to home to go take my new horse for joy ride. I was crossing the bridge in Shadowhaven and went over the side of the bridge near Paludal Cavern area. I was day dreaming and not paying attention <blush>.

Now I am camped under the bridge on a post that holds up the bridge and my character can't gate. I swam the whole water area and could not find an exit on the side.... Then I notice a tunnel underwater, sort of like the one in Queynos that enters the catacombs. I am afraid to swim inside. Anyone know this place? It is not on the maps here on this site. Anyone who can gate wanna join me and help me find my way out? Scarey stuff.

While sitting there I decided to fish and I caught a weight-free backpack! What a find! I could not equip it because my inventory was full. Grrr. It vanished. What a wonderful find. Now if I can just get out alive.

petition, a gm will summon you out. While waiting, try to find a porting class to port you out.
EDIT: actually, I just noticed the part about the tunnel. The tunnel goes to echo caverns. It is semi-safe, you can zone out into a different place in SH from echo

this is what you gotta do.

/who all mage (55 or higher)

/tell __________ can you help me kind sir/plz i am stuck _________ and i need to be coth (call of the hero) out.

Or drown your self right under the bridge and /corps your body out of the water. I am not sure this method works though =P.

IIRC, that underwater tunnel runs into a zone. It comes out in a pond in Echo Caverns (the Deep side). The pond is on the map for EC. Check it out...

I've never used it, so I'm not even sure it's two way. It would make sense though. EQ generally doesn't have too many spots that you can't get out of without gating.

Just as a note, never, ever, ever, under any circumstances for any reason ask for something using "plz" as an abreviation for please. If you can't be bothered to spell out please, then quite frankly, whatever you have to say probably isn't worth the other person's time.

gba is correct, I fell in that same spot. As a bonus my swim went up about 20pts.

Swim to the bottom and look for a hole, you can swim out into EC.

Yeah - I did the same thing and it really sux. I did not find the tunnel because I was playing a Barbie Warrior with no serpent sight mods at the time and I was blind under the water. I had to /ooc and ask someone to port me out because that was the only way I could do it.

You should be able to find a lvl 18 druid or higher making their way to or from PC, they have lessor succor at that level. Or you could follow the tunnel. It could be worse, one time I got my Vah Shir stuck in Ak'anon. It took me all night to finally get a guide to summon me out :S

What server are you on? If on the Rathe and still stuck, I can log on and get you out with my Druid. But I would imagine allmost any decent Druid would be glad to help you. Do a "who all Druids" and find one that's in shadowhaven and send them a tell about your predicament and ask to be rescued and I imagine you'll get a favorable response. I think we all have gotten into similar fixes if we've played for very long.

I managed to get stuck in the attic of the Seafarer's Roost in East Freeport. Bet ya didn't know that place had an attic, did ya? Neither did I. I had jumped on top of one of the bunk beds and stood up. Poof! I was in the attic. No door, no windows, no stairs. The game was very new to me and I was freaked out.

A very nice GM summoned me out.

The lesson of this story: Our mothers were right, don't stand on the bed.

And to the thread starter. Don't feel bad. Countless players have gotten stuck in that area. You won't be the last.

Yes, be careful where you wander. I got stuck last week in Crushbone in a small pit behind The Wall. It was amazingly frustrating because I was *this close* to being able to jump out, yet no matter how many times I tried I fell back in.

Eventually a magician gave me levitate and I got out. Now, at least I know who I can ask if I get stuck again :) .

There's also a vast canyon behind one of the zone walls of Skyfire, though you can climb out of it IIRC. We found that awhile ago, running around bored while camping pearlies for my epic.

I remember once when I was taking my monk to Thurgadin the first time. I got to the bridge and looked over it out of curiousity. Well wouldn't you know it, I fell right in that pit. After smacking myself on the head a few times, I noticed a passageway in the corner. Thinking it might lead me to safety, I walked right through and zoned. Needless to say I was dead wrong about it being safe... (Icewell Keep Pit, no exit cept spells, lvl 50+ mobs too)

*nods*

Everyone has to get stuck somewhere at least once; it's a rite of passage.

My initiation was with my first Ranger. I had heard about how cool Befallen used to be to group, but could never get anyone to go along.

One day, during one of my many exploratory runs, I stopped in to Befallen. Everything conned mostly light blue to green, so I thought it would be safe to explore. I came in right behind a half-naked caster, and asked him if he knew the way down. He told me to follow him, which I did, right through several doors he graciously opened for me. We got to the bottom, me giggling with the excitement of a new place, and he found his corpse. After he looted it, he asked me if I was ok by myself, to which I arrogantly replied "sure, thanks for the tag-along." After killing a few light blues, and then nearly being killed by some named halfling or gnome and his pet, I decided to move back up a level. Except, that the door was locked, and I had no key....lol. It took me 2 hours of paging people in the upper levels (when they did happen to come in) to find out that I could warp through the cieling in one spot, which got me out.

The very next thing did was train in pottery to 122 to make Thurgardin Gate potions, and havent been without one since ;)

When me and my bro first started playing with a barb war/rogue duo, we finally made it to lvl 8. This was in the old days where you wore patchwork and used rusty weapons.. no handouts and no ubahs. Anyway we snuck into blackburrow to start a gnoll massacre. Near the Qeynos exit there is a little tree with a hollow trunk, it looked like a nice place to rest to me. We stepped in and plunged thru a pit into a water hole with TONS of red con gnolls barking at us. We never did get those bodies back....

(this was way back before rogues got invis or evade!)

You can walk out of the pit. If you refer to your map you will see a thin walk area to the left of B1 (Recondite Camp close to Shadow Haven) If you walk along the wall of the pit towards that area you will be able to walk out. Just be careful because there are usually several MOBs on that path once you get out of the pit. Depending on where you fall.. it may be a long walk, but you will get out and it is rather uneventful until you hit the path.

Be Well and Good Luck in your quest(s)

May the world of Norrath be pure once again.

Thank you all so much for your sympathy and help. I fished and used almost all my bait, then found a level 40 wizzy to port me out. Thank god, because that equipment was expensive and belonged to my lvl 33 cleric. I cannot afford to lose it. Otherwise the map of Echo Cavern probably would have worked, but I was afraid I would die. So I tried to bribe the wizzy and he did it for free, probably happened to him too once or twice.

And it's always said that fishing is not exciting - depends on place and situation I suppose ;-)

Didn't anyone else notice the "I decided to fish and I caught a weight-free backpack"? I have never caught a container fishing, certainly not a no-weight bag.

Some of the oddest places I have even ended up are:

I once logged in after camping in the hallway in sanctur seru just in from dawnshroud peaks only to find myself outside the walls. There was bascially a continuation of the floor that I was standing on - if I went too far I would have fallen off the edge (the world really is flat :) )

I also once camped in the bank in Nerriak, and logged back in to find myself stuck in the wall. It took a lot of work to get free from there.

I also remember a time long, long ago when the portals between some of the zones were malfunctioning. I tried to zone from blackburrow to qeynos hills and found myself instead at the end of the hall beyond the point where you should have ported. Another time I was between east and west freeport.

I've even jumped off the boat from OOT to butcherblock and found myself under the hills.

In the old days falling through the earth would lead to a painful death and you had to petition the GM for your corpse and rez. Now you just end up at the safe point.

A lot of people have fallen in the water near the nexus portal in shadowhaven, and can't get out. I have also fallen in a pond in sanctus seru and had a hell of a time getting out.

Once I was running through PoK looking at the map and got stuck in a tree there. No matter what I did, I couldn't get out. After struggling for a while I accidently pushed the letter "d" and ducked out of the tree. I have avoided the bard eating trees ever since. lol

You're talking about the wrong zone, she was in shadowhaven, under the bridge right near the paludal zonelineSmiley: smile
