PvP unfair! WTF???Follow

There is something that I dont understand about the PvP server Rallos Zek. Lets say I work really hard to find some magical/lore armor, I work hard to LvL, and work hard to improve my skills. Well IT DOESNT MATTER! All some PKer needs to do is get buffed by a LvL 60 Druid and I am toast. On these servers the only thing that matters, isnt who has more skills, but who has the most high LvL buffs! I think that something needs to be done about this. I dont know what, but something!

Aye, you need to get a level 61 druid friend.

I wouldn't say that real life is fair, so why should EQ life be any different? On the flip side, you can get buffs too. Besides all this it's a PvP server and you knew it so you opened the door to allow this to happen. If you like dueling you can do that on the "Blue" or "Care Bear" servers too. Complaining about the PvP server you're on is like walking into a busy street and being upset that you got hit by a car.

The problem is, firstly, EQ wasn't designed as a PvP game, they just made those servers to cater to those who wanted the play style. The classes weren't balance for this and they only changed a few rules to make PvP a little more fair, but obviously there is still a long way to go. DO NOT expect them to do the work for that though. It's too little of what EQ is and not worth it to them. As people think of simple fixes, if they can do them, then maybe they will.

To fix your problem I would recommend buffs not being able to be cast on players greater than 5 levels lower than the level of the spell. This fix is meant for the PvP servers ONLY and isn't perfect, but it's the kind of fix SOE might actually make. You'd need to get enough people to agree that it's a good idea and that alone is a challenge.

Please don't take anything I wrote as a flame as it wasn't meant as it. Maybe a little "reality check", but not meant as a flame.

Editting this to add: The lower level limit doesn't have to be 5 levels, can be a different number, but not a good idea to have it work on the level of the spell and higher ONLY. What if you just got the buff and you're grouped with someone 2 levels lower than you? Suddenely you have to mem the new spells and your old one. Too much work and not right I think

As a note, this is why various no drop quest items are valued more highly on these servers

I have not played on them since LDON has come out, but if you can get an LDON group and get an augmentation stone, I would imagine the stone would make a piece no drop (i.e. not lootable) as well as it does on the blue servers.

Wear junk until you get the stone, then augment it - then it can't be taken

(in theory anyways)

PvP is meant to be near-rule free. Play is not really supposed to be considered that serious either. If you can't take the heat, you shouldn't be there. On a lighter note, maybe you should check out the FoH guild for some tips, you would be surprised by what a level 5, particuraly a bard, could do.
