Hi, I have heard of ways to playing 2 characters on the same computer. Is this possible? Do I have to buy another set of everquest discs. Is this frowned apon? I would like to know this because I think it would be cool to play two characters but do not want to buy another computer. Thank you for the info.

Its a concept that I can barely contemplate, as I seem to have to concentrate 100% on one character - let alone two (and I gather some people 3 box !).

To run two characters on one PC, you will need two accounts, to have two accounts, you will need two account codes, which currently means that you have to buy two sets of discs..

The idea of having to buy two sets of discs has been discussed at length and why you cannot just buy an extra account code - but thats how it is...

So your answer is... yes, you have to buy an additional set of discs (or download of course)

hope this helps :)

(corrected spelling !)

Quite a few people play this way, and Yes, you do need an account for each instance. Quite a few of us have several accounts for family members, a back-up mule/trader, or for 2 boxing.

(To be pedantic, '2 boxing' usually means playing on 2 PC's simultaneously, whereas playing 2 toons on one PC is often referred to as 'botting')

Some people use a product called EQ Windows which isn't sanctioned by SOE (although there are widespread claims that SOE turn a blind eye to it now) which allows fast switching between instances. Some don't bother with EQ Windows, but often complain that switching between windows is slow.

PC Spec needs to be pretty decent, but works well for quite a few people.
