Alright, since a few people I know, namely in my guild had trouble with obtaining this piece of the Cleric's epic. I though I would share my 2cp with everyone on how I got it :)

Me: 51 Non-battle Cleric of Innoruuk
Help: 62 Warlock (Necro)

First things first, HP/AC buffs are not really a necessity, seeing as the mobs you're going up are not higher than level 39. Since the mobs and placeholders are underwater, an Enduring Breath item is necessary (good for 27 minutes underwater). However, Dead Man(men) Floating is almost a blessing while doing this quest (good for 67 minutes underwater, and recastable underwater). We parked the Necro's pet right next to Deep (57-58 neutral mob underwater) and went topside, and waited. Not more than 45 minutes later, (after a few underwater checks and slaughterings of gobbies) Lord Bergurgle popped. He likes to run (swim) and unless you're a Froglok, you probably wont catch him. So remember to snare or root. It's definitely one of the easier parts of the epic. I guess all I'm trying to convey is that, having a Necro with you is by far the most beneficial class. As you won't have to go topside over and over to get air. Hope this helps ;)

Being helped by a level 62 anything helps on this camp. The levi component of DMF does help you to manouevre underwater. Having a perma EB item is much to be preferred. And you should have one by this level anyway.

You were extremely lucky on the pop however.

You have to kill the central goblin at the top of the tower. That is the placeholder (PH) for Bergurgle. The PH for Bergurgle is on a 28 minute timer.

Be prepared for a long, long camp. I've seen 7 hours of PH killing with no Bergurgle pop before now.

Lord Bergurgle is a caster quite capable of landing nukes on level 51 characters. He is also a healer and although he can be soloed by a 50's cleric it is not a cakewalk by any means. I would say that telling people not to bother with hp/ac buffs was a trifle silly.

Probably the best person to do it with is a druid who still needs this bit for their epic. The tainted Aqua goblin pops in the same tower.

I got VERY lucky on Bergurgle. He was up when I arrived at the tower with my mage buddy. Needless to say, he wasn't up for long. Had crown in hand and on my way in less than 5 minutes total.

No flaming here. Just a response :) At the time, I probably had about 1500 HPs and maybe 720 ac unbuffed. It is a bit intimidating underwater for casters with no pets. Visibility is minimal even for me (Dark Elf). If you can solo pull (pac, nuke, root, nuke), you should be ok. I would never suggest doing any part of the epic by yourself (camps can be long and motivation can be lost), but if you must, the by all means I would suggest HP/AC buffs. I actually attempted to do it at level 39 out of boredom one day, and got absolutely wrecked. Helpful tool the epic is, but I would venture to say that it isn't quite as essential to your inventory unless you are raiding on a steady basis. Or above level 55. Keep posting your experiences, I know when I started mine, I read every single post and it helped tremendously :)

I went to Berg's underwater tower to check out starting my epic the other day. Got the damaged crown first, as suggested. Killed three PHs for Bergurgle when I got a tell asking how it was going from a 65 Cleric who was camping him earlier, but ran out of potions and had to get more. Since I was just doing a recon of the area anyway (mostly), with my wife on the beach casting EB when I needed it, I gave the camp back to him.

For the next two days he was still camping him with no success as of late last night when I signed off. I thought it was maybe a 4-6 hour camp at worst, what with the 28 minute PH spawn and all. Sheesh! Looks like I'll have to buy an EB item with hopes of selling it back when done (maybe).

Anyone here know the average wait time for Bergurgle?

Thanks,

Pacus

I recently finished this part of Epic Quest with my 56 Cleric.

I did this solo whithout any problems and got drop within 3 hr camp. i am aware the middle MoB is PH for Lord but recommend killing all 3 spawns. who knows it may generate Lord spawn sooner and you sittin there anyway ( I never had mana issues).

I simply Paccied middle and right spawns upon entering Nuked left pulled to bottom of water and melee'd kill. then paccied middle and nuked remaining right spawn pulled to bottom and melee'd kill. I then nuked middle spawn (left middle for last to ensure no pop adds when Lord eventually did spawn) pulled to bottom and melee'd kill.
repeat as neccessary until Lord pops (Lord casts same spells as others [wrath;resisted all casts with 146MR, Superior Heal(I Beleive coulda beeen Greater)]) but has signifigantly more HP's.
Hope this helps and good luck all attempting Epic.

Just a word to the wise, be careful with turn in of crown. I screwed up and had to re-camp Begurgle for a second time (doh). Was cursing the whole time. LOL.. Did it with my druid friend, in hopes of getting her epic piece from this spot as well. It is a good argument to get some help from a druid.
