I've heard somewhere that you can turn in Augments for AP, where does one go about doing this? Looked all around and can't find the NPC for it...

Here's the quest: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=2676

This was designed to allow you to get a refund if you accidently bought the wrong augment so you don't loose that hard earned AP. It's not intended to give you AP for dropped augs.

True...but just listen to the shouts in BB (Firiona Vie Server) during just-before-prime-time where a fellow named Quadd offeres to pay 5k per aug thats bought with AP's( mostly he wanted a cryptstone that gives +6 STR - forgot the exact name). He's been doing this for the last 4 days in a row for 3-4 hours so I can't imagine he's actually augumenting something with it.

He's just buying AP's that way which is not intended I suppose but no one cares anyway. It sounds hard but as SOE opened this way to actually trade AP for plat and back SOE is clearly not only allowing but also supporting this.

I think that rather than supporting it, SOE is stuck with the *** backwards rules of the role playing server. As it is not even possible on the other servers, it's not a huge deal to them. While I agree that it isn't intended, the same can be said about ornate armor, etc. It isn't intended that a level 1 twink should be able to walk around in ornate, but on FV they can.

Honestly spoken - when I started I thought that playing on the "Roleplaying Server" ruled....

....but since I learned about the full consequences of the FV special rules set sometimes I feel I kinda suck (just looking at my gear) because I play on the only "no-no-drop" server available. :(
