A problem with two accountsFollow

#1 Feb 01 2004 at 1:18 AM Rating: Decent
I have had an EQ account for awhile now. Recently I purchased a second copy and set up a second account so me and my wife could play together, but we cant. If we are both in different zones, we can play with no problem. But whenever we are both in the same zone the one to enter the zone last will get disconnected in about five minutes. If one of us zones out of the zone we are both in, the other one gets disconnected. Wierd huh?
There has never been a problem with my computer running EQ or her computer running EQ.
All display drivers are up to date, we are on a DSL Router (the port triggering is correct I think), and both computers are up to the system requirements.
I wonder if anyone else has ever heard of this problem and if so how to fix it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

that is a router issue. something in your router is not configured properly, or that router cant handle as many port requests as EQ is sending when you zone.

i 2box both from 2 seperate computers and from the same computer often and only times ive had issues like you discribe are when SoE has changed the ports used or how the ports are connected to the PC.

id double check your port trigger settings, and or look into getting a better router.

I would have to agree that you need to look at the router, I set up a 2nd account around 4th of July to play with my daughter and we have never had any problems (other than we both go LD on EQ at the same time). Last night I played with one couple in a LDON and talked to another couple who were on at the same time. We have 2 2003 Dell computers and DSL by the Way.
