I have had lots of problems with in-game maps not being available. Off hand, MS, BB and Grimling are missing. To fix it, I downloaded and saved them from Mapfiend. Problem is, they're still not there. I hit download all maps, and saved them to a folder on the hard drive. Did I miss a step somewhere?

Thanks for the help.

I've been downloading maps as I find I need them, rather than *all*. A couple things :

* Each map I get is a _1 map. ex: bburrow_1.txt . I have to rename each map I need to bburrow.txt. That might be your problem.

* If you are in-game and haven't been inside the zone you are downloading the map for, you can just download the map and it will appear. Catch-22 though, how do you know you need the map unless you check :)

* If you are in the zone or have been there download the map, but exit EQ completely and restart to get the map to display. Might also work to just go to server selection screen.

Hope that helps!

There is a group of layer buttons in the map window, labeled "Base", "1", "2", and "3". I downloaded a complete set of ingame maps, but they do not show up unless the "1" button is depressed. The default ingame maps show up when "Base" is depressed. You can have both your downloaded maps and the default maps drawn on top of each just by having multiple buttons depressed. I guess you could even switch to an unused layer, make a label at the spot you are at, and save. Then switch in your custom labels on the map you are viewing by activating the layer you made them on. I haven't tried that yet. But I thought maybe the layer button thing might be why you aren't seeing your downloaded maps, since that confused me for a bit after I downloaded mine.
